The Red Hat Engineering team is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our storage group in the USA. You will assist in the development and productization of software that helps Red Hat meet the needs of customers with existing SANs looking for an alternative to VMware. The team’s broader mission is to deliver end-to-end solutions that further establish Red Hat as a leader in specific emerging markets, emphasizing upstream development and community collaboration.

What you will do

  • Upskill on OpenShift, one of the Red Hat’s 3 core technology pillars

  • Contribute code to increase the usability, scalability, and reliability of Red Hat offerings

  • Participate in peer review to increase the quality of our codebase, and triage customer issues

  • Help and develop peers’ capabilities through knowledge sharing, mentoring, and collaboration

What you will bring

  • 3+ years of experience working on with SANs

  • 2+ years of experience working in a Linux environment with Golang (or similar technologies)

  • Ability to deep dive into new technologies and be productive

  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills in English

  • Demonstrated ability to debug and optimize code

  • Experience with open source development and complex distributed systems

The following are considered a plus:

  • Experience with a container ecosystem such as Docker, Kubernetes, Red Hat OpenShift

  • Familiarity with any of the following topics: high-availability, virtualization, networking

The salary range for this position is $116,270.00 - $191,840.00. Actual offer will be based on your qualifications.

Pay Transparency

Red Hat determines compensation based on several factors including but not limited to job location, experience, applicable skills and training, external market value, and internal pay equity. Annual salary is one component of Red Hat’s compensation package. This position may also be eligible for bonus, commission, and/or equity. For positions with Remote-US locations, the actual salary range for the position may differ based on location but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
