How you will create an impact

Reporting to the Global Head of IT Transformation, the IT Program Finance Governance Lead is responsible for establishing and overseeing financial governance processes to ensure effective program execution, cost transparency, and alignment with strategic IT initiatives. This role will work closely with IT Leaders, Finance, and Procurement, to drive financial accountability, standardize governance processes, and enable informed decision-making. The ideal candidate is a results-driven leader who thrives in a highly matrixed environment, can create structure from ambiguity, and drives execution across diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • IT Program Financial Governance: Establish and administer centralized financial governance processes, including business case administration, funding requests, investment approvals, financial tracking, and reporting.
  • IT Program Cost Management: Lead efforts to convert program plans into costed, consolidated plans at the IT level, ensuring alignment with budgetary constraints and business objectives.
  • Business Case Development & Review: Consolidate cost estimates into business cases for IT Leadership Team approval, validate benefit estimates, and track benefit realization. Drive business case reviews to ensure alignment with strategic objectives and approved program plans.
  • Operational and Financial Tracking: Track actual program spend versus forecast, ensuring transparency and proactive risk mitigation. Collaborate with Finance to align expenses, cost categorization, and P&L impact.
  • Standardization & Process Optimization: Develop and enhance front-end processes, input templates, and reporting frameworks to improve project financial and operational governance. Promote standardization in business case definition, expense categorization, cost-to-achieve tracking, and benefit realization.
  • Approval & Compliance Management: Define and maintain guidelines to promote adherence to governance processes, validate project scope, ensure funding accuracy, and support investment decision-making.
  • Forecasting & Reporting: Provide accurate financial forecasts, variance analysis, and consolidated views of IT program financials at the project, program, and portfolio levels. Deliver insights to leadership on potential risks, cost drivers, and financial opportunities.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Act as a central governance liaison between IT leaders, Finance, and Procurement to drive collaboration and accountability in financial and operational tracking.

What you'll need to succeed

  • 10-15 years of experience partnering with senior leadership to drive financial governance and accountability across large scale IT transformation initiatives.
  • Strong experience in IT program governance, program management, or IT business operations with a financial focus.
  • Proven ability to develop and manage financial governance frameworks, business case development, and cost tracking within IT initiatives.
  • Expertise in financial reporting, forecasting, and variance analysis at the program level.
  • Ability to collaborate across multiple functions, including IT leaders and teams, Finance, Procurement, and business stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to provide insights that drive decision-making.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience in financial services, insurance, or banking industries preferred.

For positions based in Jersey City, NJ, the base salary range is $126,000- $171,000 and the position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.
