To help fulfill that mission, the User Experience Design (UXD) team is looking for an Associate Manager of UX Design to lead our design team for Red Hat Insights.Red Hat Insights provides analytics and end-to-end system management for hybrid cloud deployments – allowing enterprises to proactively identify issues and increase day-to-day efficiency in managing their Red Hat Enterprise Linux IT estate.

As an Associate Manager on the UX Design (UXD) team, you will lead a team of UX Designers working on the Red Hat Insights product. This role is critical in navigating complexity, fostering collaboration, and ensuring user-centered solutions that align with business goals. In this role, you will manage and lead a team of designers to design UIs and journeys for product, collaborating closely with Product and Engineering, to deliver experiences that align with both user and business needs.
What you will do
Manage and support a design team, ensuring high quality, data-driven, user-focused deliverables that support both user and business goals.
Navigate complex organizational dynamics to break down silos, facilitate cross-team collaboration, and drive alignment.
Ensure the UX design team executes high-quality design that supports key user and business outcomes.
Contribute to the development of design methodologies, tools, and processes.
Develop a deep understanding of Red Hat’s Insights product, including its business strategy, competitive landscape, and key users and use cases.
Foster a user-centered culture by advocating for data-driven decision-making and aligning priorities with UX goals.
Support and coach team members in their professional growth by providing continuous feedback, identifying development opportunities, and fostering a culture of learning.
Collaborate with other UXD Managers to advance the UX practice, nurture team dynamics and culture, and support team well-being.
Establish and nurture partnerships with teams outside of UXD, leveraging cross-functional expertise to enhance design impact.
Collaborating with UX Research and UX Operations teams to provide the necessary resources for your team and objectives.
Be an active UXD leadership presence in the Red Hat Boston (Seaport) office, with 12 days a month in office.
What you will bring
5+ years of experience in UX design, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management role
Proven leadership experience managing and supporting product UX design teams in complex, technical domains
Ability to adjust leadership style to influence, encourage, and challenge others in a variety of situations
Experience with design in enterprise or B2B software, particularly in complex technical domains
Strong knowledge of multiple UX methodologies and concepts, with deep knowledge on at least 2, such as Information Architecture (IA), Interaction Design, Visual design, Service Design, and/or User Research Methodologies
The following is considered a plus
Deep familiarity with enterprise IT software users, workflows, and industry-specific challenges (e.g., IT processes, system administration, operations, cloud cost management)
Experience with open-source projects

The salary range for this position is $151,170.00 - $249,390.00. Actual offer will be based on your qualifications.Pay Transparency
Red Hat determines compensation based on several factors including but not limited to job location, experience, applicable skills and training, external market value, and internal pay equity. Annual salary is one component of Red Hat’s compensation package. This position may also be eligible for bonus, commission, and/or equity. For positions with Remote-US locations, the actual salary range for the position may differ based on location but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
