Job Description

Job Summary: The Receiving Dock Operator plays a crucial role in the warehouse operations by ensuring the efficient and safe unloading of trailers and containers, verifying incoming products, and maintaining inventory accuracy. This position requires certified operators of Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT), including forklifts and walkie rider equipment, who adhere to safety protocols and collaborate effectively with team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate PIT equipment, including forklifts and walkie riders, in a safe and efficient manner, ensuring all safety protocols are followed.
  • Unload trailers and shipping containers promptly and safely, ensuring minimal disruption to the workflow.
  • Verify incoming products against provided invoices for accuracy in quantity and SKU numbers, addressing any discrepancies as needed.
  • Ensure pallets are properly wrapped and securely packaged before transferring them into stock to prevent damage during storage and transit.
  • Collaborate with team members to lift and maneuver heavier items (up to 100 lbs), such as Jumbolinos, ensuring team safety and efficiency.
  • Assist in inventory management by reporting any discrepancies, damaged items, or quality concerns to supervisors promptly.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, following all company policies and procedures related to safety and operational efficiency.
  • Participate in training and development programs as required to enhance skills and knowledge of warehouse operations and safety practices.
  • Support other warehouse operations as needed and perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Certification to operate PIT equipment (forklift and walkie rider) is required.
  • Previous experience in a warehouse or receiving dock environment is preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 100 lbs and work in a physically demanding environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in verifying products and managing inventory.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in warehouse operations.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently when required.
  • Follow company SOPs, work instructions, and safety policies at all times.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with 5S standards.
  • Actively participate in cross-training, safety meetings, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Understand and support daily production targets, customer service levels, and quality expectations.
  • Attendance and punctuality are essential functions of the position.
  • Work scheduled shifts Monday–Friday, typically 8–10 hours per day. Weekend work (Saturday and occasionally Sunday) may be required to meet customer demand with advance notice.

Work Environment:

  • This position involves working in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures and noise levels.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods.

The U.S. base salary range for this full-time position is $19.20- $22.86 per hour. Within the range, individual pay is determined based on several factors, including, but not limited to, work experience and job knowledge, complexity of the role, job location, etc.
