We are seeking a highly capable Biochemist or Chemist to assist in automated bioconjugation and characterization of antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) as part of the core conjugation group within Discovery Research. This person will play a critical role in supporting preclinical efforts to develop novel antibody-based therapeutics.
What You Will Achieve
In this role, you will:
Perform daily operation of Tecan and other automated liquid handlers for high-throughput conjugation of ADCs and sample analysis.
Synthesize novel Antibody Drug Conjugates (ADCs), including purification and characterization of ADCs using established and experimental methodologies.
Conduct analytical characterization of antibodies and ADCs including HPLC, LC/MS and spectroscopy
Collaborate on project teams, present data and demonstrate strong communication skills.
Data and report generation including regular review of data with manager, project leads and other research associates.
Evaluate new technologies and/or lab efficiencies
Prepare critical reagents and maintain inventories
Perform routine laboratory cleaning and equipment maintenance
Here Is What You Need (Minimum Requirements)
Bachelor's degree with 3+ years relevant experience or M.S. degree with relevant experience; or equivalent.
Degree in relevant scientific discipline such as biochemistry, chemistry or related field
Minimum of 2 years post-baccalaureate lab experience in an academic or industry environment.
Experience operating automated liquid handlers
Experience performing protein purification and liquid chromatography techniques
Detail-oriented with strong analytical, organizational and multi-tasking skills
Ability to perform routine tasks independently and commitment to high quality analysis and documentation
Willingness to work with potent cytotoxic compounds, following safety protocols
Bonus Points If You Have (Preferred Requirements)
Hands-on experience performing analytical HPLC chromatography of proteins and UV spectroscopy
Analytical LC/MS experience
An ideal candidate will have previous experience performing bioconjugation techniques
Knowledge of protein stability and formulation
Prior experience working with electronic lab notebooks and/or LIMS systems
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Excellent organizational and time management skills
PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
Lifting, sitting, standing, walking, bending, ability to perform mathematical calculations and ability to perform complex data analysis.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $66,500.00 to $110,900.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 7.5% of the base salary.
