Zurich North America is looking for a Project Test and Quality Manager to work from our North America headquarters in Schaumburg, IL.
As the Project Test and Quality Manager, you will lead the test strategy, planning and activities of multiple application or releases throughout its software development lifecycle, covering Functional, Non-Functional, Regression, and Automation Testing across System and System Integration Test level. The candidate will coordinate testing with team members who may be in multiple countries and work to ensure alignment across project stakeholders (for example, scrum masters, project managers, test team leadership, etc.).
Responsibilities: • Driving creation of test strategies and test plans for medium to large projects • Driving staffing plans and estimation of related costs • Test management, communication, metrics, and status reporting, including identification of risks and escalation of issues to the project team and management • Execution of test delivery strategy (sprint testing, SIT, UAT) and reporting of test execution status, including progress and defect trends • Onshore and Offshore resource coordination and collaboration • Defect Management approach and execution, including logging and reporting of defects and adherence to Defect Management by all project / scrum team members • Representing test team progress and concerns in daily scrum meetings, including scrum of scrum meetings, and removing impediments faced by project team members using agile methodology tools where applicable (e.g., scrum of scrum, retrospectives, etc.). • Recommend scope of work for automation testing and ensure plans are in place to implement and execute automation test scripts while coordinating with Test Automation strategy leaders • Providing final go/no-go recommendations prior to go-live based on test results • As needed, perform requirements analysis, author functional test cases, and execute test cases while understanding the testable software requirements
Basic Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree and 8 or more years of experience in the Quality Assurance area
Preferred Qualifications: • Insurance / financial services industry experience • Experience with setting up new projects as a test lead, including development of test strategy, staffing strategy and plan, project plan for testing, overall test execution plan, and regular status reporting • Experience with creating and executing test cases in an agile / scrum delivery model • Experience with driving and enhancing test automation capabilities • Experience with leading team members across multiple organizations through the test phases of projects, including regression testing and user acceptance testing • Ability to multi-task • Strong analytical and communication skills • Excellent organizational and planning skills

The compensation indicated represents a nationwide market range and has not been adjusted for geographic differentials pertaining to the location where the position may be filled. The proposed salary range for this position is 98,300-161,000 with short-term incentive bonus eligibility set at 15%.
