Intel's Client Platform Architecture Organization is looking for an Entry / Mainstream low-cost segment Platform Architect. As the platform architect, you are expected to lead the platform definition for a cost sensitive segment that prioritizes Intel competitive goals aligned with the user experiences valued by the segment. You will work with our silicon and software architecture teams to provide platform constraints that influence our silicon and software construction as well as work with our validation partners to provide targets that represent real world customer scenarios. You are expected to understand the business related to this segment, internal budget constraints, and resource requirements as well as technical and IP requirements to make architectural tradeoffs in order to define platforms for this segment. You also would be expected to interface with our key customers to determine their requirements for our platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
Platform Architecture:
As Platform Architect for a segment, you shall define the platform requirements and architecture working with all domains experts to balance constraints and publish Product Requirement specifications and architectural collateral.
Lead a diverse team defining next generation Client Products for the next 5 years in Client Computing group (CCG), ensuring they are scalable, reliable, and cost-effective
Drive detailed Technical Readiness to gain cross team alignment on specific Intel Products covering all aspects of platform physicals w/ Domain Experts (Physical System fit, Package study, Pin count analysis, thermal/ mechanical analysis etc)
Identify key emerging technologies, calibrate their compatibility with different segments and oversee overall systems integration (Physicals, FW, Driver, ISV, PnP and Experiences)
Meet with customers to discuss our latest architectural intent for our client platforms and obtain feedback relative to their needs
Team Leadership and Collaboration:
Lead a team of architects, developers, and engineers to define entry mobile client platform solutions.
Collaborate and develop cross-functional synergy with other teams (e.g., System design, Thermal, Mechanical, SI/PI, Program management)
Provide mentorship and guidance to team members, ensuring high standards of development and architecture practices.
Communicate platform status, updates, and risks to stakeholders and executive leadership.
Prepare reports and presentations to illustrate progress and architecture decisions.
Proactively identify potential risks related to platform architecture and performance.
Resolve complex technical issues related to the platform's design and implementation.
Minimum qualifications are required to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.
Minimum Qualifications:
15+ years of experience in platform development or leading consumer product development
BSC in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering
Preferred Qualifications:
Translate business requirements into technical solutions and platform features
Strong understanding of engineering principles such as Power, Thermal, HS Design
Experience in board design and system integration
Ability to deal with ambiguous problems and make reasonable tradeoffs to support business goals

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in the US:
$214,730.00-$303,140.00Salary range dependent on a number of factors including location and experience.
Work Model for this Role
