Job Overview

The RF Design Engineer will be responsible for leading the innovation, design and development of RF sub-systems and solutions for wireless communication in our devices. This role involves strategic planning, innovative design, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver best-in-class wireless performance.

You will:

  • Apply theoretical and practical knowledge in electromagnetics, wireless sub-systems, communication theory, and product design to generate scalable RF solutions.

  • Design, simulate, integrate, and validate solutions for complex wireless technologies including Cellular (UMTS/LTE/5GNR), GPS, Wi-Fi, BT, and NFC.

  • Ensure clear and efficient communication of technical data to support data-driven decisions in platform solution design and execution.

  • Collaborate with Front-end Architects, cross-functional teams, ODMs, and sub-tier suppliers to optimize platform-level performance strategies for mass production.

  • Drive suppliers and ODM partners to execute concepts, support development activities, and resolve RF design issues.

Essential Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with 15+ years of experience or Master's/PhD with 10+ years of experience (preferred).

  • Extensive knowledge and proven track record in EM (Electromagnetic) or RF theory, RF interference components, and sub-systems in PC or tablet products, along with successful product integration and delivery.

  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to various audiences.

  • Proficiency with RF simulation and design tools, and a deep understanding of wireless communication standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Extensive experience with RF system integration, PCB design/layout, schematic design creation and review, and hands-on experience with lab equipment such as Network/Spectrum analyzers and Wireless communication emulators.

Desirable Requirements

  • Passionate innovator with experience in various PC SoC architectures

  • Familiar with regulatory requirements (FCC, CE, etc.) and carrier requirements (AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, etc.) is a plus
