RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategy

  • Align communications strategy and involvement to the Bank’s overall objectives and priorities both internally and externally.
  • Develop media strategy and messages to enhance business competitive position as well as to support the Bank’s sustainability initiatives with media activities.
  • Enhance visibility of the bank’s corporate culture and sustainability messages internally and externally. 
  • Leverage speakers and reports to enhance the Bank’s thought leadership.
  • Act as a ‘centre of expertise’, developing and maintaining knowledge of all business functions best practice to implement communications activities.

Business

Communications

  • Work with all business functions to communicate the business priorities and deliver the key messages to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Understand and communicate the Group strategy to internal and external stakeholders under the area of responsibilities.
  • Manage relationships with media and internal networks including business and support functions.
  • Provide supports to other teams and projects as required.

CIB Marketing

  • Raise awareness and share of voice by planning and executing marketing strategy for CIB Taiwan.
  • Work with Asia/GCNA CIB Marketing and CIB Taiwan to provide marketing support aligned to business needs.

  • Leverage regional and Group’s resources (e.g. Global Research, Sustainable Finance and Corridor / Trade) to obtain insights that will sharpen understanding of client needs and trends for informed decision making.
  • Ensure plans are executed within the brand specifications (positioning/architecture) to reinforce the Bank’s overall brand positioning through consistency in tone, manner, look and feel.
  • Design actionable metrics and ensure outcomes are used for strategic analytics.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all regulations and controls as set by the Bank and external regulatory authorities by all staff.

Communications

  • Identify speaking opportunity to raise the Bank’s profile and thought leadership.
  • News release draft, revision and distribution.
  • Media interview planning and arrangement.
  • Press conference / event development and management.
  • Pro-actively pitch story ideas to the media that fit the Bank’s strategic agenda.
  • Develop and maintain a network of key press contacts with knowledge of the Bank’s strategies and capabilities.
  • Drive utilisation of new channels to enhance external communications e.g. social media.
  • Media enquiries and issue handling.
  • Timely updates to Message House once business results change.
  • Proactively manage media agencies.
  • Co-work with related parties on complaint cases when they arise and minimise negative media exposures.
  • Holding statement preparation and circulation.
  • Maintain a tight control of all issues that have the potential to cause reputational damage.  Manage crisis and proactively mitigate and deal with threats that may have risk the Bank’s reputation.

  • Manage robust staff engagement through key events including townhall and senior visit as well as key channel including the Pule and Broadcaster.
  • Generate content for internal communications for various occasions to keep high moral among internal stakeholders as needed.
  • Facilitate special events to lift participant among employees as appropriate.

CIB Marketing

  • To work with Asia/GCNA CIB Marketing to drive and deliver the Brand & Marketing strategies for CIB Taiwan, ensuring consistent and aligned delivery with country agenda.
  • To leads CIB Marketing in identifying opportunities, expertise and creativity at both strategic and execution levels within agreed budget and scorecard.
  • To develop and manage the following strategic deliverables: strategic marketing, strategic brand, marketing communications, corporate events for CIB Taiwan.
  • Proactively prepare, monitor and track segment plans with focus on ROI and feedback.

People & Talent

  • Organise media training for the Bank’s spokespersons.
  • Work with business functions to form a strong communication strategy for promoting programmes and campaigns efficiently.
  • Identify opportunity to raise Bank’s profile and thought leadership.
  • A team player to lead professionals in the area driving priorities of the Bank.
  • Nurture talent to grow with the Bank’s agenda and the team.  

Risk Management

  • Take first line risk management responsibilities into own responsibilities and every general management role, follows the Group’s organisational structure, incorporating business, functional and geographic entity dimensions.
  • Ensure a full understanding and effective management of the risk and control environment in area of responsibility, and actively seeking advice from specialists wherever required.
  • Ensure all material risk are identified, assessed, mitigate, monitored and reported, ensure that known risks are controlled within acceptable boundaries and to consistent standards.
  • Ensure all applicable policies, procedures, limits and other risk control requirements are implemented and compiled with.  Ensure that applicable external rules and regulations are compiled with.

Governance

  • Maintain robust business and regulatory governance standard by adhered to relevant process, policies and procedures.
  • Maintain high awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework in which the business operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role. 
  • Completion of all mandatory training needed including e-learning within stated timeframes to support the understanding of the roles for delivering effective governance.

  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct. 
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
  • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.
  • Lead to achieve the outcomes set out in the Bank’s Conduct Principles

  • Local media (including print, broadcasting and online), wire services editors and journalists
  • PR / advertising / event / media monitoring agency

Other Responsibilities

  • Embed Here for good and Group’s brand and values in Taiwan/CABM; Perform other responsibilities assigned under Group, Country, Business or Functional policies and procedures; Multiple functions (double hats)
  • Embed the Bank’s brand and values in all communication materials.

  • Perform other responsibilities assigned under Country, Business or Functional policies and procedures.
  • Ability to work with senior management and peers to develop projects and campaigns. 
  • Influence across of a culturally diverse team across functions and geographies without direct reporting line.

Qualification

  • Education     University or above
  • Languages     Fluent in English / Chinese
