Job Responsibilities :
As a Systems Development Intern, you will play a crucial role in researching, designing, and developing a customized Linux distribution optimized for high-performance game development and AI workloads. This internship provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in system and OS development, open-source technologies, and customized game dev/AI platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
Research and Analysis
- Investigate existing Linux distros, with focus on distros targeted at developer and/or AI to understand their strengths and weaknesses
- Research and Analyze open-sourced tools and projects pertaining to distro building, bundling, and installer image creation
Customization and Optimization
- Collaborate with R&D team to suggest packages and optimizations for a Linux distribution to suit the project's design goal and requirements
- Customize user experience, branding, look-and-feel of a distro to meet business needs
Documentation
- Document the design and development process, decisions, configurations
Testing and Gaming
- Conduct lots of testing, having serious fun gaming, dive into AI tools and packages on Linux, and in the process iron out compatibility issues, and optimize both user experience and performance.

Candidate Requirements:
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field
- Working knowledge of Linux operating systems
- Familiarity or interest in open-source development process, familiar with browsing readme, code and/or issues on GitHub to find solutions
- Proficiency in C, C++, Python, and/or Shell
- Experience with installing or customizing Linux distros (e.g. Arch, Gentoo, pfSense/OPNsense, nas4free, HassOS, etc.) is a plus
- Able to commit full-time, 6 months from Jun 2025 - Dec 2025
