JOB SUMMARY

  • We are seeking a Domain Tech Lead to drive the development and delivery of digital wealth products that enhance client investment journeys. This role will lead agile hives, ensuring the seamless integration of technology, regulatory compliance, and client experience. You will work closely with Product, Business, and Engineering teams to implement the Wealth Digital Products strategy, enabling growth in FX, Structured Products, Fixed Income, Equities, Wealth Lending, and Bancassurance.
  • The role holder is expected to help with the co-creation of the technology roadmap in close consultation with business, architecture and associated teams including Risk Management, Enterprise Technology, Functions, etc. This role requires a facilitating leadership approach, supporting the hive members to execute the technology solution and delivery within the individual WRB Hives. The domain lead in this space is expected to empower hive members to co-create and imbibe a sense of ownership and accountability within the team, leading to higher levels of engagement and innovation. The lead would also serve as the single WRB Technology point of contact to stakeholders ensuring application ownership and adherence to enterprise service levels.

In this context, the associated core responsibilities are as follows:  1. Technology Leadership & Strategy Execution

  • Lead the end-to-end technology delivery for agile hives focused on wealth products.
  • Align digital wealth product development with business objectives, ensuring timely execution of the roadmap.
  • Define and implement scalable, secure, and compliant architectures that support digital trading, investment products, and insurance propositions.
  • Partner with Wealth & Retail Banking domain leads to drive innovation, digital-first engagement, and ecosystem standardization.
  • Advocate for best practices in UI/UX, data security, and API-driven integrations.
  • Growth mindset, aligned to modern ways of working. Empowering their team to deliver, acting as a servant leader who believes their job is in service to their team.

2. Agile Delivery & Engineering Excellence

  • Oversee technology teams in designing, developing, and deploying investment solutions, ensuring adherence to agile and DevOps principles.
  • Establish engineering best practices, leveraging cloud, microservices, and modern development frameworks.
  • Drive automation in testing, deployment, and monitoring to enhance reliability and scalability.
  • Manage technical dependencies across multiple teams and external partners.

3. Stakeholder & Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Product, Business, Risk, and Compliance to ensure solutions meet client needs and regulatory standards.
  • Engage with regional and global teams to expand wealth offerings in new markets (e.g., Korea, Kenya, Bahrain, Taiwan).
  • Collaborate with design teams to refresh UI/UX for digital trading platforms in Singapore and Hong Kong.

4. Innovation & Continuous Improvement

  • Drive enhancements in structured product offerings, FX digital assets trading, and equities lending through biometric and digital automation.
  • Leverage AI/ML and analytics to optimize client journeys and personalize investment experiences.
  • Ensure continuous learning within the tech team, fostering a culture of innovation and upskilling.​​​​​​​

Strategy

  • Develop and execute a technology strategy that is aligned with WRB and TTO’s goal and objectives
  • Responsible for overseeing multiple hives and ensuring that the mission / vision of these Hives align towards a common client journey
  • Drive the technology roadmap to align with modern platform architecture and library
  • Provide thought leadership to the wider technology community (via technology papers, blogs, industry seminars, forums, etc)
  • Responsible for executing the Hive's product vision together with the Chief Product Owner/Hive Leads.
  • Responsible for working with the CPO, Engineering Leads and Architect to communicate and execute the Technology vision and roadmap for the Hive.
  • Demonstrate ability and skills to convince business stakeholders around technology solutions.
  • Manage and build strong relationships with key stakeholders: Business Unit MT , Business Heads, Function Heads, Product Management / Product Ownership, Delivery Team, Group Process owners and Functional Partners including Risk, CFCC, HR, Finance, Legal, GIA.

Business 

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders across WRB, Sales and Distribution, Technology, Data and Digital teams
  • Engage Group/Regional/Country teams to present business cases and contribute to work prioritization aligned with WRB and Technology objectives. 
  • Accountable for driving business outcomes supported by technology pillars / products
  • Contributing to the establishment of the product roadmap through collaborative discussions with stakeholders.
  • Take full ownership for all the applications that are owned by the Domain.​​​​​​​

  • Responsible for resilience, obsolescence and stability of application(s) health 
  • domain lead partners with the Chief Product Owners and Chapter Area leads to manage capacity and ensure the squads are set up for success.
  • Guide the Engineering Leads to ensure the technical consistency of solutions in the Hive with the business architecture.
  • Lead architecture evaluations during RFPs for technology tools and service providers.
  • Exhibit passion for client experience with a user-first mindset.

  • Ensures adherence with the highest standards of ethics and compliance with relevant policies, process, and regulations
  • Act as the risk control owner under the Group’s risk management framework
  • Responsible for effective risk management across all initiatives planed for the hive.

Regulatory & Governance

  • Represent the domain in relevant governance & risk committees – e.g. NFRC
  • Delivery of conduct plan across region and relevant technology forums
  • Ensure that the GRAM risk rating for the domain is maintained
  • Represent the Hive and contribute to the governance forums like RF, QPR etc. 
  • Ensure that other technology leaders in the Hive and across Hives are sufficiently involved in the Hives interaction events like quarterly planning, show & tells etc.

Our Ideal Candidate

  • Bachelor's degree in Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 15+ years of experience in Technology Leadership Roles.
  • Strong leadership (servant leadership) experience – willingness to lead from the front
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience in start-ups / agile mindset is a good to have / experience operating highly-available systems in technology companies / Financial institutions
  • Knowledgeable on modern object orientated programming practises including entity frameworks, dynamic reflection, reusable interfaces, non-blocking reactive design.
