In this role, you will need to assess medical and financial risks of applicants for life and health insurance policies, working closely with internal and external stakeholders to evaluate the risk and exposures of potential clients.As part of this dynamic role, you will report to Lead Underwriting Consultant, New Business or a similar position.

Job Description

• Perform risk assessment of applicants for life and health insurance within stipulated SLA
• Make decisions, within the given authority, that are consistent with underwriting standards and compatible with market trends
• Process end-to-end new business transactions in the system
• Provide support to Financial Consultants on matters relating to underwriting, and able to communicate and explain underwriting decisions/rationale clearly
• Face-to-face service interaction with the sales team at PruBusiness Centres on New Business matter
• Be involved in ad-hoc projects when required

Working Experience

• 2 to 5 years of underwriting experience in life & health insurance

Education

• Degree in Nursing or Biomedical Science/Engineering

Professional Qualifications

• Professional Qualifications is an advantage: ACII, ANZIIF, ALU or LOMA

Language

• Strong command of the English language
