Why this is important to Visa
Consumer-to-business (C2B) payments are the foundation of Visa's business model. Despite strong penetration in this space, there's a significant opportunity to grow carded consumer-to-business payments. Total global consumer purchases are approximately $40 trillion — of that, approximately half is carded today, where we can increase our share. We also have the opportunity to capture the remaining that is on cash, check, ACH, and other electronic payment types.
Non-card solutions such as real-time payment networks and digital wallets are solving unmet needs for small merchants and lower-income consumers, who've been underserved by traditional financial channels. There's significant opportunity for Visa to capture in these markets, across debit, ACH, cash, and check through expanding our consumer-to-business solutions beyond card.
