ING Hubs Romania offers 130 services in software development, data management, non-financial risk & compliance, audit, and retail operations to 24 ING units worldwide, with the help of over 1700 high-performing engineers, risk, and operations professionals.

We started out in 2015 as ING’s software development hub – a distinct entity from ING Bank Romania – then steadily expanded our range to include more services and competencies.

Now we provide borderless services with bank-wide capabilities and operate from two locations: Bucharest and Cluj-Napoca.

The Mission

Deliver and maintain ING Hubs RO's Internal Applications Platform (aka IAP) and its sub-modules (QBR Portal).

The IAP is a platform developed internally for ING engineers who wants to address business problems with the purpose of expanding ING engineering culture and facilitate innovation.

Your day-to-day

Writing code in a Javascript environment;
Support for functional analysts;
Workload estimations during the planning sessions;
Advice, appraisal and code review;
Pooling and sharing of knowledge on new applications and technologies used;
Investigate and give resolutions for defects (in test, acceptance or production environments);
Contribute together with the rest of the team to continuous improvements of the development process;
Programming new applications and making changes in the existing ones;
Translating functional analysis into technical analysis and developments, together with the parties involved;
Create release documents to support the deployments and the software after release;
Design and develop high-volume, low-latency applications for mission-critical systems, delivering high-availability and performance;
Contribute in all phases of the development lifecycle;
Write well designed, testable, efficient code;
Ensure designs are compliant to the specifications;
Prepare and produce releases of software components;
Support continuous improvement by investigating alternatives and technologies and presenting them for architectural review;
Write unit tests.

What you bring to the team

University/Master degree in Information Technology;
At least 2 years of experience with web development in JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3;
Working experience with web testing runners (e.g.: Mocha, Karma, Chai);
Understanding of how RESTful APIs work;
You are familiar with build tools like Webpack and Rollup;
You are familiar with continuous deployment and continuous integration;
Experience of working in a cross-functional, Agile team;
Experience working with a framework(Angular, React etc) is a plus;
Working experience with WebComponents (e.g.: Lit) is a plus.
