Job Description: 

Intel's Security Engineering group is looking for a System Software Validation Engineer to join a brand-new team established in our big Research and Development Center in Gdansk.

The team will own one of Intel's most critical components in the Xeon server segment that provides capabilities to boot the system in a secure manner.

In this role, you will be part of the firmware product validation team responsible for defining the product-level validation strategy, developing an automation environment, creating test cases, and performing initial issue debugging.

The team follows best-in-class methodologies throughout the full product lifecycle - from architecture and implementation to validation. As this component is central to Intel’s server products and interacts with multiple system elements, you will gain hands-on experience with system-wide validation.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze hardware and software specifications to understand system requirements and validation needs
  • Develop comprehensive test plans based on requirements from architects and relevant technical documents
  • Implement test cases to validate firmware functionality and performance
  • Debug and refine tests by analyzing failures, identifying root causes, and making necessary corrections
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including architecture, customer-facing teams, and development to ensure robust validation coverage and bug triage

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BSc or MSc in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or any related field

  • At least 3-4 years of experience in software/firmware validation

  • Knowledge on hardware interfaces like: PCIe, SPI, eSPI, I2C, SMBus, UART

  • ​Proficiency in written and spoken English

Nice to have:

  • Experience in automation development

  • Knowledge of Python

  • Experience in complex products

  • Knowledge on PCH workflows/services and/or CPU boot logic
