Job Description:

Shell Trading operates globally in energy markets with major hubs worldwide. The Contracts Operations team handles the entire contracts process, providing commercial advice and managing records.

The Contractor Coordinator supports trading desks by validating deals and managing confirmations.

The Contractor Coordinator's responsibilities include preparing draft confirmations from templates, emailing drafts to counterparties and following up, preparing documents for electronic or hard copy signatures, obtaining internal approvals, maintaining the contracts database and storing records, running daily reports and handling transaction-related tasks, and troubleshooting systems and resolving issues.

Position Accountabilities

  • Operate the confirmations process, including assessing deal entry and generating confirmations from standard templates, and handling some non-standard confirmations, and associated queries.

  • Interface with Commercial, Trading, Credit, Legal, Contract Advisors and other functions as needed to ensure timely completion of pending contracts and confirmations.

  • Ensure confirmations include Shell’s mandatory clauses, as applicable, and are compliant with all Global Shell policies.

  • Have strong understanding of commodity transactions and the ability to identify discrepancies in deal entry and/or transaction confirmations. 

  • Possess a basic understanding of contractual risk principles, ensuring that any deviation from Shell policy is identified and appropriately mitigated.

  • Handle contract and confirmation queries from third parties, seeking advice from other Confirmations Coordinators or Contracts Advisors when required.

Experience and Qualifications required:

  • Ability to apply knowledge and work to resolve problems in collaboration with others.

  • Must possess a high degree of accuracy and strong attention to detail with ability to multitask.

  • Proven ability and experience working in a fast-paced team environment.

  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills and proven ability to maintain a professional attitude when working under pressure.

  • Prior experience in a commodity trading environment or the energy industry is a plus.

  • Previous exposure to contracts and/or transaction confirmations processes and records management is a plus.

  • The ability to recommend modifications and improvements to processes and controls is a plus.

  • Working on Hybrid Model.
