ROLE SUMMARY 

The Associate in the Competitive Intelligence (CI) team plays a crucial role in collecting, analyzing, and disseminating competitive intelligence to drive key business decisions. This role supports global efforts in pipeline stewardship, product development, financial forecasting, and commercial assessments. The Associate will work closely with the Senior Associate, the Team Guide (Research & Analysis Manager), and the CI Director. They will be contributing to the CI input that enables optimal resource allocation, commercial assessments, and a socialization of comprehensive competitor landscape perspective across Pfizer’s global operations. The Associate supports the CI team’s goal of being the owner of all competitor-related intelligence, enabling informed decision-making across therapeutic areas.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operate with support from the CI Senior Associate, the CI Team Guide (Research & Analysis Manager) and the CI Director

  • Execute comprehensive secondary research and gather competitive intelligence to support pipeline stewardship and product development.

  • Monitor competitor activities, including product pipelines, Business Development deals, and market movements, and provide insights to internal stakeholders.

  • Support the Commercial Strategy & Innovation (CSI) team by contributing key inputs necessary for financial forecasting and commercial assessments.

  • Participate in updating the CI knowledge management system with current research and ensure accuracy of data.

  • Support the CI team in preparing intelligence reports for internal decision-making forums.

  • Contribute to the development of strategic CI frameworks and competitive landscape monitoring.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in life sciences, business, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in competitive intelligence, data analytics, or a related role within the pharmaceutical/healthcare industry.

  • Strong analytical and research skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information into actionable insights.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with cross-functional teams.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS

  • Reports directly to the Senior Manager of Competitive Intelligence.

  • Executes the goals of the CI team under the guidance of CI director

  • Is supported by the CI Senior Associate and Team Guide (Research & Analysis Manager)

  • Collaborates with the CI Senior Associate and Team Guide (Research & Analysis Manager), Senior Manager of Competitive Intelligence, as well as other internal stakeholders.

  Work Location Assignment: Hybrid
