Job Summary

We are looking for full stack web developers to be based in Poland managed by T&O division, supporting maintenance and enhancements to the group website (https://www.sc.com/en) and non-retail country websites based on the WordPress CMS platform. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Building new features, layouts and components for our group website (https://www.sc.com/en) and numerous country websites based on the WordPress platform. 
  • Remediating bugs and websites vulnerabilities reported in our bug tracking software within a defined SLA. 
  • Following our Software Development Life Cycle, Change Control processes and Deployment Methodologies to deliver changes and enhancements.
  • Supporting CMS users with page creation and management using existing WordPress Page Builder plugin.
  • Building mobile responsive and mobile first themes and templates.
  • Developing new WordPress themes and layouts based on designs provided by various digital agencies.
  • Coding across our full technology stack including PHP, CSS3, HTML5 and JavaScript and JQuery.
  • Collaborating closely with third party developers supporting the websites and adhering to defined best practice standards. Ensure code is reusable, scalable and testable. 
  • Taking initiatives to improve codebase proactively. 
  • Full functional testing of all new code including Unit Testing, Regression Testing and Browser Compatibility Testing.
  • Participating in Agile SCRUM ceremonies including daily standups and sprint demonstrations.
  • Inputting into discussions about design, system architecture and development tasks, helping to shape the direction of the platforms and helping Project Managers to make informed decisions. 
  • Collaborating effectively with technology stakeholders such as Business Analysts, Technology Leads and Testing Teams. 

Skills and Experience

  • 5+ years of development experience in a fast-paced environment.
  • At least 5 years of experience with WordPress CMS backend development in PHP, including understanding of theming, the WordPress loop and plugin development.
  • Good understanding of front-end technologies, including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery
  • Good understanding of coding standards including writing high quality object orientated code, semantic HTML5 and progressive enhancement.
  • Experience in building mobile responsive websites and an understanding of mobile first, RWD and AWD principles. 
  • Comfortable working with debugging tools like Firebug, Chrome inspector, etc.
  • Ability to understand CSS changes and their ramifications to ensure consistent style across platforms and browsers. Experience with SASS is desirable. 
  • Ability to convert comprehensive layout and wireframes into working HTML pages.
  • Knowledge of how to interact with RESTful APIs and formats (JSON, XML).
  • Experience with WordPress Gutenberg or WordPress page builders such as Beaver Builder is desirable. 
  • Proficient with code versioning tool GIT.
  • Ability to architect complex subsystem.
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies and working as part of an Agile team in a multiple vendors environment.
  • Strong analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
