Job Description:

Job Summary: The Solutions Design & Engineering Supervisor leads strategic projects and plays a key role in building and maintaining strong relationships with strategic partners to enhance the company's logistics capabilities. Solutions for strategic partners are created and provided.

This role leverages proprietary and third-party applications to analyze and develop transportation, distribution, logistics, inventory, and supply chain solutions.

By managing various supply chain and distribution analysis projects, the supervisor provides subject matter expertise, coaches users, and develops customized solutions to strengthen customer relationships.

Responsibilities include overseeing the planning, development, deployment, and support of operational, software development, and infrastructure projects. The supervisor ensures successful project execution by managing cross-functional teams, analyzing partner´s needs, and delivering tailored IT and operational solutions. Additionally, this role involves stakeholder communication and negotiation.

A critical function of this position is driving continuous improvement initiatives and leveraging data analysis to support strategic decision-making, ensuring efficient resource utilization and alignment with strategic partner.

Responsibilities:

  • Interact with strategic partners as well as internal/external customers
  • Develop and manage project plans based on strategic partners feedback and requirements
  • Manages project lifecycles, including project scope, resources, schedule, initiation, start-up/design, building, and deployment to see projects from beginning-to-end
  • Supervise developers in project-related tasks including dispatch, project planning, designing/coding, and deployments
  • Document Business Requirements as well as functional requirements for IT development team
  • Coordinate IT testing incl. User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and sign-off
  • Provide ongoing analysis of implementation projects, plans, templates, outcomes, lessons learned, and post-implementation audits
  • Optimize processes and improve efficiency using industrial engineering methodologies
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and leverage data analysis for strategic decision-making

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or international equivalent in Industrial Engineering, Industrial & Systems Engineering, Operations Research, or Logistics/Supply Chain
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Expert knowledge about UPS service portfolio and UPS data infrastructure
  • Entrepreneurial mindset & ability to utilize UPS Core technology subject matter expertise effectively to design innovative solutions
  • Consulting experience in the supply chain industry – Preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to negotiate and influence stakeholders (English, 2nd language preferred)
  • Proficient in Office 365 (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), project management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Asana), and data analysis software (e.g., Excel, SQL)
