Job Description:

We’re looking for a Subject Matter Expert - TPA and Expense Management, US Retirement to join our Finance team at MBPS. In this role, you are expected responsible for the accurate and timely preparation and release of Third-Party Administrator Compensation as well as producing Expense Reporting for the US retirement business. The SME supports monthly and quarterly activities, leads projects and initiatives to standardize processes and improve controls.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee US Retirement Finance processes, including timely and accurate preparation and release of third-party compensation as well as producing expense reports.
  • Support monthly and quarterly close-related activities, as well as handle ad hoc requests.
  • Analyze trends and verify Third-party administration (TPA) data to ensure the accuracy of reports.
  • Conduct quality reviews on all reports prior to submission to recipients.
  • Act as the main point of contact and first level escalation for tasks submitted by the MBPS team.
  • Maintain control documentation and prepare responses for internal and external audit requirements.
  • Manage and respond queries related to TPA compensation.
  • Foster a culture of standardization and efficiency by sharing best practices and recommending process improvements.
  • Train new team members and conduct quality checks on the team's work when necessary.
  • Continuously improve controls and update process documentations.
  • Lead in any transitions and special projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent work experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a finance role; experience in Group Retirement, Pension, Group Benefits, or Insurance is an advantage
  • Proven ability to excel in a fast-paced, high-performing, collaborative team environment while managing multiple priorities and ad-hoc requests.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with Apollo, WorldApp, Salesforce, QComp is an advantage.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proven self-starter capable of supervising others and working independently.
  • Ability to anticipate and address challenging situations, coordinating with leaders or onshore teams as needed.
  • Proactive in managing processes and controls, with the ability to review colleagues' work.
  • Excels in a team environment, interacting effectively with business and finance colleagues both onshore and offshore.
  • Experience providing offsite support to business functions.
  • Willingness to work on a night schedule.
