Your Key Responsibilities:

  • The Senior Principal Auditor leads or works independently on audits of a specific business/functional area/region, and evaluates the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls relating to risks within those business areas.

  • In this you would work proactively to develop and maintain professional consultative working relationships within your own function and with stakeholders inside and outside the bank and respective support areas. The role will use a range of approaches to collect relevant information to assess key risks, resolve major issues or carry out tasks.

  • As the Senior Principal Auditor you would in a co-operative manner with subject matter experts and other teams from across the function and outside the function to provide ‘front-to-back’ audit coverage and actively contribute to the delivery of team plans in support of the functional and business strategies, working under limited supervision.

  • They may occasionally participate in ad-hoc projects and special investigations

  • The Auditor must typically proactively develop and maintain professional consultative working relationships with clients and respective support areas and will use a range of approaches to collect relevant and readily available information to assess risk, resolve issues or carry out tasks. 

  • Communicate openly with Group Audit management and internal stakeholders, keeping all informed of potential issues and escalating problems/delays accordingly.

  • You would guide a team of auditors in Manila providing support and guidance on delivery of the audit plan coaching and assisting in developing them to their full potential.

Your Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline. Advanced Degree (e.g., Masters, Juris Doctor) and professional certification (e.g., CPA, CIA, CAMS, CFE, etc.) preferred.

  • Audit/business knowledge and experience and an understanding of the risks and regulatory requirements with a focus on Investment Bank and also Corporate Bank activities and controls but also looking at variously Wealth Management, Operations, Risk, Legal & Compliance, Finance and Information Technology.

  • Familiarity with operational requirements of a global bank.

  • Sound understanding of global banking control environment and compliance issues in the banking/finance industry.

  • Solid communication skills, communicating with clarity, both orally and in writing, in a logical order and structured approach. Fluent in English (written and verbal) and local languages if necessary.

  • Solid relationship management, analytical, problem solving, communication, influencing, planning and presentation skills.

  • Good knowledge of auditing standards and concepts.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced business environment.
