Job Title: Accounting Control Analyst

The Accounting Control Analyst is primarily responsible for the timely and accurate production of all financial reports including financial statements (FS), additional disclosure and statistical requirements, inter-unit clearing and other reports in accordance with IFRS and HGB GAAP for submission and consolidation to head office in Germany; as well as in accordance with applicable GAAP for local regulatory reporting requirements of (various APAC locations).
The Accounting Control Analyst is responsible to carry-out assigned reporting functions including performing and/or enhancing related processes and control activities. The Accounting Control Analyst is also responsible for building and managing key relationships with stakeholders.

Your key responsibilities
- Produce financial and management reports for head office, statutory and local regulatory requirements covering daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, semi-annually and annually, as applicable.
- Prepare and post required reporting journals to the ledger.
- Investigate variance and discrepancies on the movements of account balances between periods.
- Substantiate balance sheet accounts in accordance with existing policy and substantiation requirements.
- Understand system architecture within the reporting platform, e.g. SAP, and identify technical issues in reporting production.
- Maintain evidence of controls performed via checklist and other supporting documentation.
- Coordinate and escalate outstanding issues to supervisors, stakeholders and support teams as needed.
- Conduct root cause analysis and provide tactical recommendations on corrective and/or preventive actions.
- Liaise with onshore Finance Directors/Managers (FD/Ms) and other stakeholders.
- Produce key performance, risk indicators and other required operational metrics
- Ensure process documentation is up-to-date and compliant.
- Propose initiatives to improve existing controls, processes and outputs.
- Engage with different business partners via the various forms of media/communication.
- Involvement in projects and initiatives to support team objectives and strategies.
Your skills and experience
- Comprehensive understanding of accounting standards and principles; as well as finance concepts.
- Good analytical skills, keen into details, flexible in problem solving.
- Strong communication skills, fluent in English both written and verbal.
- Able to work in fast-paced and changing environment.
- Open minded, able to share information, transfer knowledge and expertise to team members
- Knowledgeable on MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Access) and preferably SAP.
- A great team-player and is able to work independently and collaboratively.
- Has excellent work ethics and organizational skills coupled with the ability to work under pressure, prioritize and handle multiple assignments.
- Able to manage deliverables against tight deadlines.
