Job Title: CIB Operations - Regulatory Cross Product Trading Surveillance  APAC Analyst  (Activity Monitoring Group) - AVP

Location: Manila

The Activity Monitoring Group (AMG) is an independent Level 1 control function performing trading surveillance across the Corporate and Investment Bank division.  AMG are closely aligned with front office whilst maintaining segregation to perform a review and challenge control - identification and prevention of potentially fraudulent trading activity. The platform provides sophisticated analytics to generate alerts, automated workflow and management reporting to support the monitoring and fraud detection process.

Your key responsibilities

  • Perform investigations and quality control on Trading activity highlighted by the analytics risk model, as well as manage risk cases covering investigation and follow up within the defined timeframes.

  • Conduct detailed analysis of trading data across Investment Bank and Corporate products globally, providing insights into trends and trader behaviour across all businesses and regions. Similarly, apply this analysis to refine and improve Key Risk Indicators used in the platform (including definition and acceptance testing).

  • Regular face off to work with and support requests from Front Office Supervisors, CB&S Conducts & Controls and various product areas business control units.

  • Co-ordinate efforts and in implementing the changes to processes, system feeds, Key Risk Indicators, management information and workflow changes (including definition and acceptance testing).

  • Implement strategy, standards and policies as the function expands across APAC and Globally

Your skills and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Banking, Business Management, Economics, and other finance-related discipline

  • Experience in Middle Office, Sales/Trading Support, Risk Management, Product Control, Finance or Front Office with good product knowledge in Front Office (e.g. Option, Swap, Forward, other Derivative Strategies etc) will be essential, along with exposure to Trading, Trade capture and/or Trade settlement experience required to review and analyze the risk model output in terms of trading activity from a risk perspective

  • Excellent understanding of the controls relating to the complete trade lifecycle with preferably knowledge of Risk and Profit and Loss. Excellent analytical skills, and able to solve problems independently.

  • Proven ability to work independently to solve business problems, an inquisitive nature, a willingness to ask questions and challenge, ability to work in fast-paced environment and guide and mentor more junior team members.

  • Posses good communication skills, along with being open minded, and able to share information, transfer knowledge and expertise to colleagues.
