JOB DESCRIPTION

Individual Responsibilities:

Monthly/Quarterly required activities (80% of monthly workload)

  • Prepare cash/suspense accounts reconciliations and aging analysis; investigate breaks and outstanding receipts

  • Collaborate with Treasury to clear suspense accounts for a number of entities.

  • Process wire requests for routine and non-routine intercompany payments and third-party transactions

  • Various monthly/quarterly reporting to groups throughout MAM and Manulife

  • Perform controls and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures

  • Projects, process improvement (20% of monthly workload)

  • Collaborate with other team members and business partners on special projects, as required

  • Identify opportunities to improve existing processes and achieve efficiencies by optimization and automation

Key Shared Accountabilities:

  • Assist and support to the related processes in WAM NA A&R teams on monthly and quarterly activities

  • Work closely with affiliated business teams to deliver financial analysis and commentary required to provide management with comprehensive insight into the financial dynamics of all aspects of the business related to cash processing processes

  • Participate and support employee engagement activities within GWAM domain and Finance.

Job Requirements:

  • University degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Management and or recognized accounting designation.

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in accounting operations and/or audit.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Good understanding of double entry bookkeeping including practical experience of posting entries; Ability to interpret General Ledger entries

  • Ability to work in ambiguous environment and adapt to change while managing time and workload with aggressive timelines.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively across cultures. Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.

  • Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of Excel (i.e. mastery of excel formulas and pivot tables is a must; VBA and Power BI are a plus). Proficient in MS Office suite including Outlook, Word, Power Point, and Project.

  • Strong attention to detail and aptitude to learn

  • Ability to multi-task, effectively prioritize, work under tight timelines and manage multiple stakeholders

  • Well organized and with high level of energy and initiative to perform in a fast paced and challenging environment

  • Ability to work independently and establish priorities to meet deadlines
