Job Description:
We’re looking for a Data Governance Analyst to join our Group Functions Data Enablement and Governance team at MBPS. In this role, you are expected to enable the accelerated adoption and execution of data governance best practices across the Group Functions Segment. In collaboration with the Platform Engineer Team, Advanced Analytics Team, Business Stakeholders within Group Functions and globally, candidate must have a passion for how data can be trusted and accessed easily so it can be leveraged as a strategic asset for the consumers and producers.

Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the accelerated deployment of a data governance program across the Group Functions Segment which includes operating model, policies, standards, KPIs/OKRs, automation as related to data catalog, data quality, data access, data literacy and data lineage.
- Partner and build trusted, productive relationships with Global and Regional Data Office, Advanced Analytics Team, Data Owners, Data Stewards and Custodians.
- Support DEG Lead in delivering the objectives outlined on the data governance roadmap for the Group Functions Segment.
- Work with the DEG Team and global counterparts to promote a data driven culture through data literacy programs and best practices. Develop content and conduct training sessions, maturity assessment workshops, as well as the development and implementation of communication plan.
- Lead / take part in initiatives and BAU activities of the Group Functions DEG Team. This includes but is not limited to ensure we are in compliant with the EDL standards, metadata management, Data share request, data access rules and remediation, participate in the Risk Triage activities and other data governance related tasks.
- Vendor Liaison. Act as a liaison between the squad and 3rd party vendor (i.e., Microsoft, Databricks, Informatica etc.) to deliver the Group Functions DEG Roadmap. Assist the DEG Lead with process escalation, report defect, troubleshooting, accelerate tool enablement, resolution approach and assist the squad to overcome impediment effectively.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
- At least 2-3 years of experience in metadata and data quality management.
- Amenability and readiness to work onsite and from home anytime (dependent on business need AND/OR current external environment/situation).
- Amenability to work on night shift (8am to 5pm EST).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, experience in creating content and presenting to senior management teams.
- Ability to lead productive collaboration meetings with diverse global stakeholder group remotely, including both technical and non-technical audiences using Agile framework.
- Being self-directed and confident to work independently, a natural connector with people, able to take initiatives to identify and engage stakeholders within a large organization.
- Ability to rapidly learn new technologies and business function, experience with MS 365 applications, PowerBI, SharePoint, JIRA & Confluence.
- Nice to Have experience: Data Governance or Python.
