The Procurement Assistant Manager is responsible for managing spend category ensuring established standards and specifications for quality and timeliness are met, including but not limited to internal requirement analysis, conducting baseline and market analysis, sourcing strategy development, competitive bidding process, negotiation and contract review for Manulife Philippines, Manulife Chinabank Life and Manulife Investment Management. This role will lead identified procurement initiatives and engage business units, stakeholders and subject matter experts.
Position Responsibilities:
Manages contracts or services for a particular spend category ensuring established standards and specifications for quality and timeliness are met
Develop category plan that sets short, medium and long term goals and objectives of the assigned category
Manage relations with key business partners and project owners to develop/maintain strong working relationships. Engage support and agreement on how to implement the strategy. Influence requirements from business partners necessary to evaluate and select vendors
Identifies, negotiates and manages vendor contracts, ensuring that services and products meet established standards and specification for quality and timeliness
Engage subject matter experts (such as legal, risk and finance) in support of a specific set of category and/or a business line
Promote effective management of vendors to sustain value throughout the life of the contract.
Risk management, mitigate risks & create remediation plans to address issues
Assist to manage, co-lead and coach sourcing team members on delivering the KPIs and provide sourcing thought leadership and day-to-day oversight of resource activities
Communication and training to BU stakeholders on procurement end to end procedures. Assist in cascading management information and analytics for Sourcing
Participate the implementation of sourcing system tools, process improvement and other projects that may be assigned.
Delivers benefits and annual savings target for managed spend. Provide supporting analytics stakeholders to validate realized savings
Responsible in tracking expirations of existing contracts and develop work plan for renewals, interact with SMEs to incorporate results of negotiations into contract documents
Manage Third Party Vendor Spend, maximizing value return
Risk management, Vendor and Contracts management, mitigate risks & create remediation plans to address issues
Ensure compliance with the policies & procedures and other regulatory requirements including its update, cascade / communications
Required Qualifications:
College graduate in Business, Supply Chain Management or related fields
Over 5 years of experience in managing end-to-end sourcing
With Solid analytical, cost and risk management skills
Self-motivated team player, who has energy and drive, also able to motivate and get the best out of a multi-functional team and matrix organization.
Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
Computer proficiency – Word, Excel, Powerpoint
Preferred Qualifications:
Preferably with high spend strategic negotiations in large multinational corporation or financial service industry experience
Experience with leading a sourcing team and procurement systems and tools
Relevant advanced degree or professional certification such as CIPS/CPSM
Extensive knowledge preferably of IT software/SaaS solutions/vendor
Experience and expertise with commercial T&Cs, supplier contractual terms and conditions to mitigate legal and business ris
