The Assistant Manager, Asia Privacy, supports the Asia Segment Compliance team by overseeing the Privacy Risk Management Program across various Asian markets. This role involves managing privacy incidents, tracking legislative updates, and preparing reports for stakeholders, all while ensuring alignment with regional standards and guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and coordinate annual privacy training plans with Asia markets, ensuring alignment with regional objectives.
  • Assist in preparing and launching the Annual Privacy Awareness Campaign in collaboration with Asia Information Risk Management (AIRM) and distribute materials across Asia markets.
  • Participate in Information Protection Education Team (IPET) meetings, providing privacy insights and feedback on awareness materials and training from an Asia perspective.
  • Conduct training sessions and track attendance for Privacy Officers, Department Coordinators, and other relevant stakeholders, ensuring comprehensive privacy education.
  • Maintain and update privacy materials, lessons learned, and insights on Asia L&C SharePoint and facilitate Quarterly Privacy Meetings with market Privacy Officers.
  • Streamline training processes by reviewing and enhancing materials and procedures at the Segment and market level, focusing on penetration and completion rates.
  • Oversee privacy incident response and management, particularly for incidents rated moderate or higher, ensuring proper handling and resolution.
  • Collaborate with Asia Privacy & Cybersecurity Legal Counsel to monitor and address legislative updates and compliance gaps across Asia.
  • Perform Quality Assurance (QA) on privacy controls and practices, sharing insights and trends with Asia markets to enhance privacy measures.
  • Develop and maintain a privacy dashboard for effective monitoring and reporting of incidents, and support the privacy risk management program as needed. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field. A Master’s degree or additional certifications in Privacy or Compliance (such as CIPP/Asia) is a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in privacy, compliance, or a related field, preferably within a multinational organization or across multiple Asian markets.
  • Experience in developing and implementing privacy training and awareness programs.
  • Strong understanding of privacy laws and regulations across Asia, such as the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) and General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) principles.
  • Proven ability to conduct risk assessments and Quality Assurance (QA) on privacy controls and practices.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen ability to identify gaps and recommend improvements.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively present information and influence stakeholders at various levels.
  • Ability to analyze data and develop dashboards for monitoring privacy incidents and compliance metrics.
