Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee Derivatives Business Operations - Settlements and Collateral by providing quality review, training staff and delegating work assignments
- Steer the team towards a common technical vision and work with them to turn it into reality
- Act as primary Business Unit contact for processes handled
- Review and evaluate established procedures, processes and best practices
- Improve current processes to ensure that efficient, effective and flexible service is always provided to clients
- Participate in team cross training as well as training provided by BU for new work to be transitioned to establish back up
- Support ad-hoc analysis to identify root cause of production problems and develop timely solutions
- Provide daily operations support
- Act as the project manager who will oversee the planning, implementation and tracking of any process migration or streamlining and automation projects
- Reviews performance through 1:1 coaching
- Conduct regular training needs analysis for personal and professional development of the staff
- Take the lead role in resolving critical issues and proactively manage and monitor control efficiency to ensure potential risk is minimized
- Support the Manager in building high performing team by ensuring the delivery of excellent customer service through proactively promoting client centricity.
- Effectively communicate significant production updates and challenges to the Manager and Business Unit in a timely manner
- Provide support to the Manager for administrative reports and will represent the team on management meetings as needed.
- Additional duties as assigned
- Willing to work on rotating shift to oversee all regions supported
Knowledge/Skills/Competencies/Education:
- Candidate must have at least 5-year experience working in a financial services firm under the Derivatives group
- Bachelor’s degree in economics, Business Administration, Finance, Math or related fields
- Strong understanding of derivative products and derivatives system Findur
- Knowledgeable in using Bloomberg and Reuters
- Advance skills in Microsoft office
- Knowledge of basic programming language/SQL and/or natural curiosity/affinity to system workflows and interdependence will be an advantage
- Strong leadership skills to motivate team members and know how to efficiently make important decisions
- Strong communication skills to oversee personnel and foster collaboration with other functions
- Ability to react quickly and meet tight deadlines maintaining accuracy and thoroughness
- Excellent English skills, both oral and written, with strong comprehension skills
- Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-performing, and collaborative team environment while managing multiple, constantly changing priorities and ad-hoc requests
- Proactive approach to continuous improvements and a positive “can-do” attitude
- Ability to identify and investigate complex issues and recommend actionable solutions
- Exceptional relationship management, collaboration and facilitation skills
- Strong business acumen with ability to communicate complex concepts and results in a clear, concise, easy to understand manner (written and verbal).
- Solid analytical and technical capability – can transform large data into knowledge and insight and present in a value-added form for senior management
