Listed Derivatives is DB’s global futures and options services business within the Global Markets Division and offers exchange traded derivatives execution, clearing, settlement and post trade solution services.

Listed Derivatives Cash Margining under Margin and Treasury Operations provides support to various business hubs in Asia, namely Singapore, Hong Kong, Sydney, and Tokyo.

This team is recognized to have a key role in maintaining and increasing business profitability with its crucial role in  providing support and coverage for futures and options products in ASIA. The team ensures core processes and tasks related to margin monitoring, funding & payment input are carried out in an efficient, controlled and timely manner.

Your key responsibilities

As an Operations Expert (AVP), you will be accountable for managing the end-to-end settlement process and ensure smooth and timely market settlement of securities and cash transfers between Deutsche Bank and its counterparty. The role is expected to learn and develop a good understanding of the business, process and/or product and be able to manage the team on RTB and other Business deliverables.

In this capacity you will manage settlement through primary and secondary markets, or direct payment to clients and banks. You will support interfaces with different internal and external stakeholders (front office, clients, brokers, Nostro agents, exchanges and clearing houses) involved in the settlement process chain, according to the market standards. You will be responsible for trade date to settlement date processes (pre-matching and confirmation, trade processing, cash transfer, instruction routing, depot and inventory management, funding and settlement monitoring) and post-settlement date processes (fails management and reconciliations).

  • Support the RTB Activities for Margining and Funding requirements

  • Show leadership skills and manage the team to ensure completeness of all processes and business requirementsGet cross trained in processes to ensure resiliency in the team

  • Ensure a strong risk and control environment

  • Collate ideas and track them to implementation

  • Work with the Operations Manager and Transformation Lead to review processes including solution design and implementation plan

  • Provide investigation/ resolution of issues and transformation updates to Operations Manager, Transformation Lead & various stakeholders

  • Team administrative tasks and reporting

  • Prepare Management Information relevant to product and process as required such as daily volume, KPIs, etc.

The team operate a rotating shift system between hours of 06:00 – 6:00PM Monday – Friday. The successful applicant would be expected to work shifts and occasionally work outside of a standard working hours to accommodate volume spikes

Your skills and experience
  • Good understanding and experience in Operations. Experience/knowledge on Futures & Options product/trading; Settlements is an advantage.

  • Proven problem-solving ability

  • Investigation/Problem resolution skills. Displays insight and ability to identify issue and able to assist develop successful solutions.

  • Excellent communication skills ( English )

  • Ability to multi-task and keep organized

  • Accurate, thorough and highly responsible with a good attention to detail.

  • Self starter, motivated and displays positive attitude. Willing to learn and flexible to adapt to changes in the role, team and organization

  • Responsible for own actions and seeks aide from management when appropriate.

  • Good Transformation/ Excel skills (Macro, Alteryx and Power Query level is an advantage)

  • Basic understanding of Financial and Invesment Banking background is an advantage.

  • Able to work rotating shifts

  • Degree qualified. Business / Finance degree is an advantage.
