Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Credit Controller to oversee and manage credit control processes in our fast-paced client. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring timely collection of outstanding debts, assessing credit risk, and maintaining strong client relationships while optimizing cash flow and minimizing bad debt exposure.

Key Responsibilities:

Credit & Collections Management

  • Manage and oversee the end-to-end credit control process, ensuring timely collections and minimizing overdue accounts.
  • Monitor customer accounts and follow up on outstanding invoices via calls, emails, and escalation procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records of collections activities and customer interactions.
  • Timely reminder letters to the customers

Risk Assessment & Credit Analysis

  • Conduct credit checks and risk assessments for new and existing customers.
  • Recommend credit limits and payment terms based on financial analysis.
  • Work closely with sales and finance teams to review and approve credit applications.

Dispute Resolution & Stakeholder Management

  • Investigate and resolve billing disputes, deductions, and payment discrepancies.
  • Liaise with internal teams (finance, sales, operations) to ensure smooth resolution of customer issues.
  • Negotiate payment plans with customers when necessary, ensuring compliance with company policies.

Reporting & Compliance

  • Prepare weekly and monthly reports on accounts receivable (AR) performance, aging analysis, and bad debt provisions.
  • Ensure compliance with company credit policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation.

Key Requirements:

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in credit control, accounts receivable, or collections, preferably in a BPO/shared services environment.
  • Experience handling global customers and multi-currency transactions is a plus.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of credit risk assessment and debt recovery strategies.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP), CCMS and MS Excel.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage multiple priorities.
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
