JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

We as a People (HR) team put the employee at the heart of everything we design and deliver, rapidly prototyping solutions, and making decisions based on real data and insights. You’ll be joining the Learning & Talent team, which aims to develop engaging learning experiences to bring out the best in our people, as it’s our people that make Astro Malaysia’s leading entertainment company.

As a key member of the team, you will lead and oversee all aspects of talent management, learning, and development programs within our organization. The ideal candidate is dynamic and experienced in designing and implementing strategies to attract, retain, and develop talent, ensuring alignment with our organizational goals and objectives.

Your key responsibilities

Talent Management

  • Develop and execute talent management strategies that align with the organization’s goals.
  • Oversee, plan, and execute the Leadership Development framework and program, working with senior leadership and all people managers.
  • Identify high-potential employees and create development/mobility plans to nurture their skills and career growth.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of talent management programs and recommend improvements.
  • Provide coaching and mentorship to employees and managers on talent development and performance management.
  • Collaborate with wider HR teams to create career development paths, training programs, and succession planning initiatives.
  • Develop and implement succession planning strategies to ensure leadership continuity and organizational stability.
  • Identify key roles and create succession plans to prepare internal candidates for future leadership positions.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to align succession planning with long-term business goals.
  • Report to the Senior Leadership Team and Board on the Succession Management plan.
  • Explore using profiling tools to facilitate talent’s development

Learning & Development

  • Design and implement a comprehensive learning and development framework to enhance employee skills and competencies.
  • Conduct needs assessments to identify learning gaps and develop targeted training solutions.
  • Develop various instructional methods, including e-learning, workshops, and on-the-job training, to meet diverse learning needs in alignment with business direction.
  • Develop tools and measure the effectiveness of training programs while tracking learning hours and learning data analytics through dashboards.
  • Facilitate training sessions, workshops, and seminars for employees at all levels, ensuring trainings are well-organized and engaging.
  • Facilitate the rollout of annual compliance training across the organisation and ensure completion

Other responsibilities

  • Mentor junior members and lead cross-team projects.
  • Manage the Learning & Talent budget.
  • Be the liaison person with HRD Corp, manage and optimize the levy and grant application.
  • Manage day-to-day relationships with vendors and provide evaluations to ensure quality and consistency of vendor services.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology or a related field;
  • Proven experience, preferably more than 8 years, in talent management, learning and development, leadership development, and HR strategy.
  • Ability to develop frameworks for learning, development, and talent management programs, thinking in a structured manner.
  • Previous hands-on experience in content development, managing and developing leadership programs will be an added advantage.
  • Strong sense of teamwork. Able to communicate with people at various seniority levels and work together in a project or team environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven talent decisions.
  • Leadership and coaching abilities to inspire and develop talent within the organization.
  • Experience with HR information systems and talent management software.
  • High-level consultation and facilitation skills.
  • Driven by progress and genuinely collaborating with others to make it happen.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook, and MS PowerPoint.
