Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Extended Warranty Underwriter with 4-5 years of industry experience to join our underwriting team. In this role, you will be responsible for evaluating and underwriting extended warranty products, ensuring they align with company guidelines and risk appetite while supporting business growth and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess and analyze extended warranty applications, evaluating risk factors, and determining appropriate coverage, terms, and pricing.
  • Develop and maintain underwriting guidelines and policies to ensure consistency and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to design warranty programs that meet customer needs and align with company objectives.
  • Monitor the performance of existing warranty products, analyzing loss ratios, claims data, and market trends to adjust underwriting strategies as necessary.
  • Provide User Requirements and conduct UAT to ensure system rollout is correct
  • Issuance of policy and supporting branch in any policy issuance matters
  • Stay current with industry developments, emerging risks, and regulatory changes to ensure the company remains competitive and compliant.

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business, Insurance, or a related field.
  • 4-5 years of experience in underwriting, preferably within the extended warranty or insurance industry.
  • Strong analytical skills with a thorough understanding of risk assessment and pricing methodologies.
  • Proficiency in underwriting software and tools, as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent decision-making and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., CMII) are highly desirable.
  • Experience working with automotive, electronics, or appliance extended warranty products.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry best practices related to extended warranties.
