What a Workstations Category Manager,  Malaysia & Singapore does at HP

  • This role is responsible for Mobile & Desktop workstation and contribution to defining business plans and growth strategies.

  • The role collaborates with sales teams to ensure seamless execution of category plans while monitoring KPIs and sales performance.

  • The role demonstrates a deep understanding of product categories and acts as an expert in providing directions and guidance for process improvements and establishing policies.

  • Identifies opportunities for expanding the category's market reach, potentially through new distribution channels, geographical expansion, or innovative sales approaches.

  • Collaborates closely with other departments such as marketing, product development, supply chain, and finance to ensure alignment and coordination of efforts related to the category's success.

  • Analyzes sales data, trends, and metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of sales strategies and identify areas for improvement.

  • To be able to engage with local ISV and solutions vendor and work on creating USP to drive additional Revenue and Margin for Workstation business.

  • Acts as a bridge between marketing and regional customer-facing organizations to ensure effective communication.

  • Drives substantial revenue growth within the assigned area, setting ambitious targets and implementing innovative approaches to achieve and exceed sales quotas.

  • Shapes sales approaches and strategies from the insights derived from the market analysis to identify emerging trends, competitive intelligence, and customer preferences.

  • Monitors key performance indicators (KPIs) and sales performance to identify areas for improvement and develops action plans accordingly.

  • Demonstrates a deep understanding of product categories, business management, and sales challenges and strategies.

  • Gathers and analyzes customer feedback and data to understand customer needs, preferences, and pain points, and translates insights into actionable improvements.

  • Oversees functional responsibilities in one or several areas such as market analysis, marketing engagement, etc.

Individuals who do well in this role at HP, usually possess:

  • Degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.

  • Minimum 7 years of work experience, preferably in category management, P&L management, or a related field.

  • Experience in Mobile & Desktop workstation.
