Financial Control & Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with banking regulations, financial policies and procedures, and financial reporting standards
- Implement and maintain internal controls to mitigate financial and operational risks.
- Collaborate with product, technology, and finance teams to set up financial structures for new digital banking products.
- Define and implement financial reporting frameworks for new banking products.
- Ensure proper accounting treatment, cost allocation, and revenue recognition for newly launched services.
- Support the integration of new payment systems, fintech partnerships, and transaction reconciliation processes.
- Support internal and external audits by preparing required documentation and responding to audit inquiries.
Financial Reporting & Analysis:
- Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Performing month-end closing (including preparation of manual journals, asset register, notes to accounts & reconciliations)
- Analyse financial data to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards (IFRS/MFRS) and the banks policies and procedure.
Process Optimization & Technology Integration:
- Leverage automation and digital tools to enhance financial reporting efficiency.
- Optimize financial processes for digital transactions, payment processing, and reconciliation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize financial workflows and systems.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Work closely with finance, risk, compliance, and IT teams to enhance financial transparency.
- Assist senior management in strategic decision-making through financial analysis.
Additionally, the candidate should be adaptable and capable of handling ad-hoc financial tasks as needed.
Requirements:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or MICPA, ACCA, CPA, or its equivalent.
- 5-7 years of working experience in an accounting-related field. Experience in a Big 4 accounting firm or banking sector is preferred.
- Experience in supporting financial operations for new digital banking products is highly preferred.
