We are looking for a Senior Executive, Category Management to be based in foodpanda Malaysia, at Bangsar South, Kuala Lumpur. This role will be reporting to Senior Category Manager in the pandamart vertical. The Category Management team oversees the strategic planning, development, and execution of product categories within the foodpanda groceries business. You will get to wear many hats and meticulously plan to launch and expand an exciting new business, and instill operational efficiency in processes.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Accountable for delivering excellent administration support to the category managers enabling the team to drive Category performance within pandaMart MY
Act as the ‘business owner’ across different allocated categories, possessing a complete understanding of internal and external variables that impact foodpanda business
Must develop and execute optimal category strategy, pricing, promotions, range, availability, and cost prices to expand both sales and margin, d
Ensure foodpanda categories has the optimal selection and strategically competitive prices in the market through local and international sourcing, developing a strategic long-term plan for the development of the category
Source and build strong supplier base to negotiate terms improvement, secure supplier advertising spend, and ensure a reliable and operationally effective flow of goods
Work to develop new sourcing and extended range to ensure we have high quality, good value goods available to our customers year-round
Employ data-driven decision making to drive the category while working closely with marketing and supply chain to forecast demand and ensure consistent supply
Work cross functionally with Product, Supply Chain, Sales Operations and Marketing to deliver strategic projects
Deep dive into categories to understand best and worst practices and subsequently develop and execute short and long term strategies to drive category performance
At least 2 years experience in merchandising or buying and category management
Experience with e-commerce industry is a plus
Ability to work autonomously in a highly demanding and often ambiguous environment, with strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills
An analytical mind with strategic ability
Fluency in English and strong communication and interpersonal skills
Efficiency in using Google Workspace is a plus while mastery in using Microsoft Office is preferred
