Job Purpose

We are seeking a highly strategic and visionary individual to join our team at Group Finance, Affin Bank in the role of Manager / Senior Manager, ERP Finance and Cost Management. This position plays a critical role in driving financial efficiency and optimizing operational expenditures (OPEX) through advanced analytics and strategic oversight of our ERP finance system to ensure seamless operations and proactive issue resolution.

Responsibilities

Strategic Cost Management and Analytics:

  • Lead Comprehensive Cost Analysis: Conduct in-depth analysis of operational expenses (OPEX) to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for significant cost savings. Utilize advanced analytical tools and methodologies to extract actionable insights from complex datasets1.
  • Develop and Implement Cost Management Strategies: Formulate and drive the implementation of comprehensive cost management strategies and initiatives. Ensure alignment with the organization's financial goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including various department and division to drive cost-saving initiatives. Monitor the effectiveness of these initiatives and adjust as necessary to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Enhance Reporting and Performance Tracking: Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, to track OPEX performance and the impact of cost-saving initiatives. Ensure timely and accurate reporting.
  • Provide Strategic Insights to Leadership: Deliver strategic insights and recommendations to senior leadership on cost optimization and financial efficiency. Present findings in a clear and compelling manner to facilitate informed decision-making.
  • Develop Deck and Present Findings: Develop comprehensive presentation decks and present findings and initiatives in council meetings with the management team.

Center of Excellence for ERP Finance System:

  • Serve as Principal SME: Serve as the principal subject matter expert (SME) for the ERP finance system (Oracle), with deep understanding of its functionalities and configurations.
  • Support Day-to-Day Operations: Lead the support and enhancement of day-to-day operations of the ERP system, including issue resolution, troubleshooting, and user support.
  • Drive System Upgrades and Enhancements: Drive system upgrades, enhancements, and testing to ensure optimal performance and usability.
  • Foster a Culture of Continuous Improvement: Promote a culture of continuous improvement by identifying and implementing best practices in operation and analytics. Encourage innovation and the adoption of new technologies and approach to enhance operation efficiency.

Leadership and Collaboration:

  • Mentor and guide junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Collaborate with senior management and other stakeholders to align ERP finance strategies with overall business objectives.
  • Represent the ERP finance team in high-level meetings and discussions, providing expert advice and insights.

Job Requirements

  • A minimum of 8 years of relevant working experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., ACCA, CPA) is a plus.
  • Extensive experience in financial analysis, cost management, and/or ERP system administration, preferably within the banking or financial services industry.
  • Strong proficiency in analytical tools and techniques, with the ability to extract insights from complex datasets.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
  • Proven leadership skills with a collaborative mindset and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
