Job Description

The Role

The Senior Integration Engineer (Workday) is an experienced member of the Enterprise Technology Services team. A Senior Integration Engineer is a fully autonomous professional, responsible for improving the technical alignment, health and integration practices within the enterprise technology team.

You will design, develop and support fit for purpose integrations within the Workday ecosystem, contributing to engineering quality, coaching and mentoring junior engineers, and demonstrate passion for your craft through user centric, reliable and scalable solutions.

The Team

This role reports to the Integration Lead (Workday) that forms part of the ERP Technology team in Enterprise Technology Services. This role will work closely with other integration engineers, security administrators and solution consultants in the team, as well as with functional team members in Finance and People & Culture departments.

Key Accountabilities

The following are key responsibilities that the position will be accountable for on a day-to-day basis.

Build

  • Guide other engineers to build, test, deploy and maintain Workday integrations from development through to production.
  • Contribute to the development of Workday integrations whilst adopting industry best practices that are fit for purpose
  • Improve platform health, ensuring that our Workday integration ecosystem is reliable, resilient, and efficient
  • Drive the development of Workday integrations, strengthening current best practices, ensuring they are fit for purpose
  • Work effectively within the team and improve existing deployment mechanisms and environments
  • Build and operate highly scalable and performant integrations in alignment with existing frameworks and SEEK’s technology strategy
  • Troubleshoot and manage production incidents through to resolution

Execute

  • Consistently build clean, well-tested, readable integrations, using secure coding practices,current patterns and tooling
  • Improve quality and engineering discipline and strengthen team capability
  • Strengthen Agile delivery rituals and practices
  • Strengthen secure coding practices and tooling within the team
  • Actively communicate with others in an effective, timely manner with empathy
  • Improve a DevOps culture through effective collaboration and regular reflection
  • Improve understanding of your customers and consider their needs in all development
  • Provide operational support duties, including on-call support and after-hours work from time to time

Support

  • Contribute to the safety, work-life balance and well-being of other team members
  • Be a key contributor to the onboarding of new hires
  • Help create space for other team members to articulate different opinions/ feedback
  • Improve others’ abilities through mentoring and set example behaviour

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience

Experience

  • Strong experience with all facets of Workday integration technologies (eg Workday Studio) and approaches
  • Experience with the design, development, support, and maintenance of Workday integrations
  • Experience working with APIs
  • Experience with logging and monitoring/alerting
  • Demonstrated experience consistently writing well-tested, readable software, using secure coding practices, current patterns, and tooling
  • Strong experience with Workday development and integration methodologies
  • Experience with agile methodologies (e.g.: Kanban, Sprints)
  • Experience providing operational support duties, including on-call support and after-hours work
  • Uses data to support decision making

Qualifications

  • Relevant Workday Pro Certification or equivalent
  • 3+ years of experience in developing and implementing Workday integrations

Desirable Qualifications, Skills and Experience

Experience

  • Experience using AWS technologies
  • Experience using observability and monitoring technologies such as Splunk / Datadog
  • Experience working with Workday Finance and/or HCM
  • Some experience in leading individuals in a software engineering team or project setting
  • Some experience leading delivery of a specific technical / system / product outcome within a team
  • Proactively sharing knowledge and skills to help other team members grow
  • Proactively contributing to relevant internal or external professional communities
  • Proficiency using Service Now and Atlassian suite ie. JIRA, Confluence.

Qualifications

  • Software development experience with multiple programming languages and with integration formats such as JSON, SOAP, XML, and YAML
  • AWS Certification
