We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our Alliance Islamic Bank (AIS) CEO’s Office department under AIS division as an Assistant Vice President, Islamic Business Finance.

The Role

A successful candidate in this position will be support in the following sections:

  • Finance – Support bank with timely and accurate reporting with highlights of financial performance, KPIs, set up the reporting requirements and partner with product/business team to support strategic initiatives and to provide analytical support for decision making process.
  • Strategy – Build financial reporting capabilities to support business strategies, decision making process and performance management which can support business growth & financial targets
  • Catalyst – instilling an agile business and transformational mind set throughout the bank, to drive strong business performance and improve the way the Bank run its business
  • Operator – Drive management reporting for AIS including proactive development of strategy, business plan, budgets and financial projection effectively and efficiently, internally and externally

Job Description

  • Prepare and manage the budget and forecast to guide the Bank’s strategies and ensure alignment with the financial targets.
  • Monitor key performance indicators and assess the actual performance against budget and forecast by highlighting areas that required attention.
  • Conduct thorough financial analysis to assess the Bank’s performance and identify market driven recommendations.
  • Cost management to enhance the Bank’s efficiency and profitability.
  • Assist in preparing monthly dashboards and presentations for senior management.
  • Collaborate with departments to streamline data collection process and enhance reporting efficiency.
  • Stay updated with banking regulations to ensure that the Bank’s practices are adhered to the guidelines.
  • Month end closing & mid-month process; monitor the posting of accruals (marketing exp, audit fee, tax fees, professional fees), monthly cross charge postings, etc.
  • Take on any other responsibilities proactively and promptly, in line with our values and key behaviorism for the bank to achieve its vision.
  • Handle any ad-hoc projects or tasks assigned by AIS Head Business Finance/Supervisor.

Knowledge

  • Strong financial and management accounting skills in budgeting, forecasting and reporting deliverables
  • Understanding of accounting reporting rules
  • Knowledge of business products
  • Advanced in excel with strong analytical skills with the discipline to meet deadlines and provide solutions

Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or related field
  • At least 8 years’ banking experience with strong background in finance and financial management
  • Proficiency in management reporting, budgeting and forecasting
  • Deep understanding of banking regulations and compliance requirement.
  • Proficiency in data management tools, i.e. MS Excel/Power Point, SQL, etc.
