OVERVIEW:

This role is responsible for actively supporting the daily operations of loan processing and servicing functions within a financial institution. This role involves ensuring efficient loan operations aligned with prescribed and agreed service level agreements (SLAs) and expectations, managing a small team to achieve overall department/team goals.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead a small team in loan processing and servicing, including application review, approval, disbursement, and loan recovery, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to Compliance and Operational Risk requirements for loan documentation and recovery processes.
  • Resolve customer inquiries and issues related to daily loan operations and loan recovery.
  • Manage daily settlement and reconciliation processes related to loan operations and services.
  • Support improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency of loan processing and develop both short-term and long-term strategies for loan operations and recovery functions.
  • Prepare reports and analyses related to loan operations and recovery, continuously seeking improvements to ensure relevance in reporting matters.
  • Provide active support to the Senior Manager on daily operational matters and during audits conducted in related operational areas.
  • Assist the Senior Manager in identifying and implementing cost-cutting measures and automation.
  • Participate in and support vendor management related to credit and recovery initiatives.
  • Provide work relief to other team members within the department and undertake assignments and ad-hoc requests as required.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • A relevant tertiary-level qualification and/or recognized qualification(s) appropriate to the role.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience with a deep understanding of current trends in Credit Assessment and/or Credit Disbursement, including knowledge of fraud prevention measures.
  • Exposure to reconciliation and basic banking accounting is an added value.
  • Proficiency in English (written and spoken) and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Possession of a Certified Credit Professional (CCP) or Business Credit Professional (BCP) certification is an added advantage.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills, and an effective team player.
