The Job
Assist in development, enhancement and implementation of ORM Policy, Process & Procedures and Guideline including but not limited to Outsourcing, RCSA (Risk & Control Self-Assessment), Key Control Testing, Key Risk Indicators (KRI), New Product Assessment (NPA), Third Party Risk Management Guideline (TPRMG), etc
Providing an independent risk assessment of the new product/service to ascertain that operational risk issues in the new product offering are adequately identified and mitigated / controlled
Collaborate with Functional Unit to ensure root causes of the risk incident have been comprehensively identified, identify mitigation actions and actions are tracked to completion to mitigate the risk events from re-occurring in future
Responsible as Submission Officer to ensure accurate and timely reporting to regulator(s) (i.e., BNM on loss events and specific KRIs)
Facilitate/coordinate the Functional Unit in performing Risk and Control Self Assessment (RCSA) to identify and assess the operational risks and controls in the Bank’s business processes
Provide review, challenge and consolidate the bank-wide RCSA result with accordance to Bank’s risk appetite and matrix
Ensuring the bank-wide RCSA are dynamic to reflect their actual risk profile that has linkages to the risk incident, key risk indicator and issues
Work closely with Business Units / Functional Units (BUFU) in reporting and monitoring of the internal KRI thresholds
Analyse operational risk data and trends and prepare monthly & quarterly risk reports to senior management by providing input and highlighting areas requiring management attention
Review the outsourcing risk assessment and due diligence
Coordinate with Functional Units to perform the outsourcing periodic review and responsible timely submission for annual outsourcing plan to BNM
Provide support, workshop and training to functional units on the implementation of risk tools in building risk awareness and embedding risk culture within the bank
Undertake any ad-hoc tasks as and when required by Head of Department and/or the Senior Management
The Requirement
Bachelor’s degree or higher
8 years or more of relevant hands-on banking experience
Strong technical knowledge of banking and operational risk management
Good knowledge of related BNM (Bank Negara Malaysia)'s policy documents and guidelines
Ability to undertake specific operational risk related projects and assignments from time to time as directed by the Hed of Department
Strong project management skills, as well as stakeholder management skills
Have good interpersonal skills and is willing to engage with stakeholders on a frequent basis and open to communication, discussions, collaborations.

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to details
Flexible and agile to support the risk management team
Demonstrate teamwork in your day-to-day
Have technology risk knowledge and experience as part of banking experience (advantage)
