The Transfer Pricing Documentation Specialist will establish a new operating model for the Group’s transfer pricing compliance. Once implemented, the role will lead the preparation, maintenance, and management of global transfer pricing documentation to ensure compliance with international tax regulations. Reporting to the R2R Tower Lead in JM’s Global Business Services Hub, the specialist will work closely with JM’s Global Tax team. The candidate will ensure adherence to transfer pricing requirements, policies, and strategy set by the Global Tax team. The role supports the Group’s value protection objective by ensuring efficient compliance processes. A strong understanding of international transfer pricing regulations, economic analysis, and tax risk management is essential. The ideal candidate will have experience in transfer pricing documentation within a multinational environment, leveraging technology and working with multiple stakeholders to optimize tax processes.

In this role you will:

  • Support the establishment of JM’s new transfer pricing documentation operating model, supporting the design and implementation of a globally consistent approach to transfer pricing documentation, clarifying roles and responsibilities, creating process maps and SOPs with Global Tax, and identifying relevant technology and external advisor support, leading the transition to the new model in alignment with the Finance transition plan.
  • Prepare and maintain the Group’s transfer pricing documentation, focusing on Local Files and supporting the Global Tax team in preparing the Group Master File and CbCR to ensure compliance with OECD guidelines and local regulations.
  • Collaborate with finance, legal, and business teams to lead functional interviews, gather relevant data for transfer pricing documentation, and ensure alignment with the Group’s policies.
  • Work closely with external advisors, financial controllers, and local tax personnel to ensure timely and accurate transfer pricing documentation in all jurisdictions, while identifying synergies and efficiencies with stakeholders under the existing model.
  • Monitor changes in global transfer pricing regulations, assess their impact on compliance obligations, and lead the implementation of appropriate responses.
  • Lead the annual benchmarking process and economic analysis with external advisors to ensure intercompany pricing complies with arm’s length principles and assist in transfer pricing reporting for tax authorities and audits, supporting the Group’s tax governance framework.

Requirements for the role:

  • Relevant professional qualification (ACA, CTA, or international equivalent) and significant experience in preparing transfer pricing documentation across multiple territories is essential.
  • Detailed understanding of multiple transfer pricing policies, their documentation, and benchmarking within an organization is essential, along with strong IT literacy and proficiency in Word, Excel, and other transfer pricing documentation tools.
  • Experience in driving process improvements is desired.
  • In-house experience is preferred, but candidates from public practice demonstrating suitability for a commercial environment will be considered.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to explain complex tax issues to a global audience, as well as strong project management, organizational, and problem-solving abilities are essential.
  • A pragmatic negotiator and influencer with strong attention to detail, the ability to work within cross-matrix teams, and a focus on quality while being approachable, assertive, and driven are key personal competencies.
