Johnson Matthey IT (JM IT) is Johnson Matthey’s global IT function responsible for ensuring that our IT capabilities are not only able to support and integrate technologies but can also offer insight into future IT tools that could provide us with a competitive edge and improved operating efficiencies.
The role is responsible for configuration and governance of internal SAP applications (ECC 6 / S4 Hana) based on the business requirements and priorities with a focus on the Order to Cash (OtC) business processes. It provides on-going support and management of the SAP business solution, leading it through to maturity and driving continuous improvement. The role will collaborate closely with the SAP Solution Architect, the global Business Process Owners (BPOs) and third parties to ensure that the SAP solution design is fit for purpose. Governance and control over third party solutions and services is a key part of this role.
Stakeholder engagement
Coordinate with business users and third parties to manage and maintain all SAP related systems.
Responsible for translating business requirements into functional specifications for the technology solution / application. Work with system end-user and SMEs from different functions to understand needs, challenges & objectives.
Provide support to the application management teams when they escalate Incidents and Problems that they are unable to resolve.
Provide functional support to users when they experience major problems with processing (e.g. helping to diagnose and resolve business data processing problems) that are beyond the abilities of the application management teams.
Support project deployments as well as continuous improvement by providing governance over solutions provided wither by the JM or third-party teams. This will be done via design board reviews.
Work with the change and release teams to ensure that systems and solutions are deployed effectively.
Technical capability
Be the gatekeepers for the SAP functional configuration by maintain a detailed technical knowledge of the system configuration in the various SAP systems run by JM.
Design and implement technical solutions. Drive configuration of the applications as per the business requirements in collaboration with JM team and vendors.
Oversee JM IT and supplier delivery teams during build to ensure functional and technical solutions are developed as per design and support development teams with queries as they occur.
Act as SMEs of their platform and processes, able to understand what capabilities a platform must resolve user needs and impacts within a process when changes are proposed.
Undertake troubleshooting of application issues and resolve the issues; liaison with the software providers in case the issue could not be resolved internally.
Resolve technical and service issues of users, escalate wherever necessary
Create detailed solution documentation in line with JM IT engineering and architectural methodology to document solutions for approval at review boards.
Improve process flow and user documentation for different related modules
Ensure adherence to regulatory compliances and adherence to audit findings; undertake improvements as required.
At least 5 years of in-depth experience with the Sales and Distribution SAP module. Experience of other core SAP modules (FI/CO, MM, PP).
Firm understanding of the Order to Cash business processes covered by the SD and FI SAP modules.
Experience of working collaboratively with a team of SAP solution specialists in an international environment.
Experience of providing functional and business process support for SAP systems. This includes governance, incident and problem resolution plus delivering continuous improvements.
Experience of working on deployments of SAP systems and modules in an international environment.
Experience dealing with senior stakeholders from IT, the business and third parties to discuss, influence and agree on technical solutions to address business requirements.
The annual salary offered for this position: from €50,750-€65,000 Annually. The final offer and will be based on candidate’s qualifications, skills, and competencies.
