Team and Role Overview:

The Customer Delivery team is scaling rapidly due to increased client wins and demands. We are seeking a Technical Consultant with relevant work experience in the capital markets or at a financial software company. You will be part of a team of consultant which will be designing, implementing, and supporting the solution to the Client. You will act as a key player in the successful delivery of client’s solutions.

Typical Technical Analyst Day:

  • Follow up on pending items (Jira).
  • Meetings with clients (Requirements, support, demonstration, training).
  • Design/Implementation of the solution: Configuration and customization.(Custom Code, Messaging, and reporting templates).
  • People development: eLearning, documentation, presentations, certification.
  • Defining and improvement of best practices.

Responsibilities:

  • The technical consultant will then typically follow up with the users to test the implementation, achieve signoff, and continue to move the system toward go-live.
  • In-depth, hands-on involvement directly with customers implementing our system.
  • Act as a point of contact between Customer Delivery and Research & Development and Calypso Cloud Team.
  • Work directly with the customer project team implementing the system and assist them in implementing their users’ requirements.
  • Assist developers in understanding the API required to extend the system, add data to the system, and build interfaces between our and external systems.
  • Train users and customer developers on the basic use of the system, particularly with the technical setup.
  • System installation, including Java JRE download and installation, relational database installation, data model installation and upgrade scripts, setup, and configuration of the event-driven framework, configuration of real-time market data feed, etc.
  • Work hands-on with the system, configuring it and testing that it meets the customer’s technical requirements.
  • Work with the business analysts, core development, or customer development to code prototypes of enhancements to ensure they will meet business requirements.

What we value:

  • Some relevant experience working in systems or technical analysis using Java and SQL, preferably in the capital markets industry.
  • Experience with softwares as REST API, RMI, J2EE, Spring Boot, Docker, and containers are considered a plus.
  • Being autonomous, proactive, and be able to self-train yourself with our eLearning platform.
  • Good level of self-management, time management and follow up on daily tasks.
  • Excellent object-oriented analysis, design & development skills.
  • Knowledge of relational databases and SQL including working experience with PostgreSQL and/or Oracle.
  • Experience designing/building front-to-back capital markets trading systems will be especially valuable.
  • Expose yourself through your work to become a point of reference within the Customer Delivery Organization.
  • Good interpersonal skills. The person in this role will spend significant amounts of time working hands-on educating and training customers, and patience will be key to success.
  • Business-level English is required.
  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently (if needed).
