What are we looking for?

We are looking for an Underwriter & Medical Assessor to make underwriting decisions, assess risk, and ensure regulatory compliance. This role will also collaborate with teams to provide exceptional customer service, develop training materials, and interpret medical reports to explain health conditions to customers.

What are we expecting from this role?

  • Make underwriting decisions with integrity and honesty, assessing and classifying risk, and determining premiums, terms, and conditions.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, panel doctors, and sales teams to ensure excellent customer service.
  • Exercise sound judgment in making underwriting decisions promptly.
  • Maintain confidentiality of underwriting information and comply with insurance legislation and regulations.
  • Continuously enhance professional competency through education.
  • Develop and update underwriting training material for the front-line team.
  • Provide explanations to customers regarding their health conditions.
  • Interpret medical reports from panel clinics.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by management.

Who are we looking for?

  • At least 3 years experience in underwriting, medical assessment, or related.
  • Strong knowledge in medical background or related field.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to assess and classify risk accurately.
  • Comprehensive understanding of underwriting guidelines, risk assessment, and insurance regulations.
  • Ability to provide clear explanations to customers regarding underwriting decisions and health conditions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Digital proficiency (Microsoft 365)
