Details of the Division and Team:    

As part of Japan Corporate Bank Technology team you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth end to end operation of the Japan CB application stack and participate as a senior application Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Change-The-Bank projects.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Work as developer, technical expert. As part of Japan local team and work closely with the GLOBAL Corporate Bank IT teams to provide day-to-day system stability  as well as  deliver projects, contribute as lead application developer; working particularly close with the cash business
  • Participate in communication among various stakeholders to deliver the business outcome (e.g. production stability, project delivery, IT risk compliance)
  • Manage projects from initiation to closure; regular status updates, managing issues/risks, dependencies and resources
  • Maintain an end to end view of the application and infrastructure landscape.
  • IT Risk function including handling IT related audit and inspections, including, but not limited to following areas - application control, capacity, vendor management, BCP/DR, Technology roadmap compliance, people risk, information security

Your skills and experience:

  • Overall IT experience of 5+ years
  • +3 years' experience in IT in large corporate environments, specifically in the area of controlled production environments or in Financial Services Technology in a client-facing function. Experience of supporting complex application and infrastructure domains with time critical, regulated tasks, changing priorities
  • Key of success will be strong technical skill, knowledge and background
  • Global Transaction Banking / Corporate Banking Experience would be plus (SWIFT, Zengin, BOJ)
  • Application development experience with Java and other languages (e.g. Rust, C++, C#, Visual Basic, Python, Perl, Ruby)
  • Fundamental technology understanding e.g. Multifactor authentication (how it works and development), MQ, SFTP, Oracle, SQL, Network, OS (Linux, Windows Server), Security (public-private key, certificate),  Cloud computing
  • Working experience in mid-range technologies, platforms, i.e. Linux, Oracle, SQL, MQ, SFTP, preferred. Including working experience of writing scripts and queries.
  • Experience working with offshore team with diverse backgrounds
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in virtual teams and in matrix structures
  • Language: Fluent English, Business Japanese (both mandatory)
