In the context of innovation programs for turbomachinery serving markets in the energy transition space, the responsibilities of the NPD Lead Mechanical Design Engineer will be mainly focused on R&D design and experimental activities with the target of reduce environmental impact and increase efficiency of turbomachinery lubrication systems.

As a NPD Lead Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Defining new product architecture and optimize design criteria for lubricating systems.
  • Conducting finite element analyses on lube oil console frames for design validation.
  • Innovating with materials and engineering to reduce oil vapor emissions and use additive manufacturing for heat exchangers.
  • Scouting and validating eco-friendly, low viscosity oils for turbomachinery lubrication.
  • Performing detailed design, procurement, erection, and function test validation of lubrication system prototypes.
  • Collaborating with external engineering companies, attend design reviews, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Fuel your passion

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have a master’s in Mechanical, Aerospace, Chemical, or Environmental Engineering.
  • Have expertise in Mechanical Design, Industrial Manufacturing, Materials Science, Structural Mechanics, and Finite Element Analysis.
  • Be a clear thinker able to take decisions with speed and have exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Have an entrepreneurial mindset, accountability, collaboration, and a passion for technical innovation.
  • Have familiarity with project management tools, excellent attention to detail, and target-orientated with a self-starting, autonomous approach.
  • Be able to demonstrate proficiency in Fluid System and Lubrication system design, test, and validation activities will be considered as a plus

Preferred Qualifications

  • PhD in Engineering.
  • Master 3D modelling using CAD software (Siemens NX or similar)
  • Demonstrate knowledge of International Codes and Standards for Energy and Oil & Gas industry (ASME, API, NACE, ASTM, ISO)
  • Have the capability to model physic behavior through specific tools (CEASER, Matlab/Simulink)
