Technology Lead Mechanical Engineer Energy Transition Program

Join our Design Engineering team

Our Turbomachinery & Process Solutions business provides industry-leading products and services that optimize extraction, production and processing of energy. As a team with integrity, we create value with impact decisions by effectively connecting ideas and people. We champion entrepreneurial culture to unlock full potential by bringing energy to the world.

In this context, we have taken up the technological challenge required to reduce the environmental impact of the turbomachinery produced, with the target to reach the zero net emission within the 2050.

Partner with the best

In the context of Innovation Programs for compression and steam technology serving industrial markets in the energy transition space, the main responsibilities of the Technology Lead Mechanical Engineer will be focused on investigation and selection of unconventional materials for auxiliary systems suitable for critical services in terms of operating conditions (i.e. high design pressure and temperature) and/or process fluids (i.e. supercritical CO2, Hot Potassium). Proposed solution shall consider the reliability and safety aspects, applicable standards, costs and Program constraints with the target of reduce environmental impact, increase efficiency of turbomachinery auxiliary systems and market penetration in unconventional applications.

In particular:

  • Defining alternative materials having suitable mechanical and chemical properties for new applications in compression and steam turbine auxiliary system field.

  • Pioneering the use of innovative materials and engineering solutions to reduce cost, increase system efficiency, optimize product sustainability and life cycle assessment.

  • Supporting procurement in scouting new Suppliers when an unconventional material is selected.

  • Issuing technical documentation for assigned deliverables with high focus on quality, completeness, consistency and alignment with Program requirement and internal standards.

  • Designing compression and steam turbine mechanical auxiliary systems, performing the necessary evaluations for systems sizing, components and material selection.

  • Attending design reviews and internal meetings with other functions to validate design.

  • Promoting synergies with other disciplines, departments, Teams and partnership with University or Research Center.

  • Cooperating with procurement for proper design to cost and with suppliers for performing technical alignments.

  • Supporting continuous improvement and cost-out initiatives.
