The Lead Design Engineer will actively execute the design and development phase of new rotating equipment such as Centrifugal and Axial Compressors, Turboexpanders, Reciprocating Compressors, Innovative Rotating Equipment with a special focus on the product development design phase. In a multidisciplinary and stimulating environment you will cover the thermodynamics, the mechanical design & configuration of compressors & radial expanders, adapt the products to evolving market of energy transition and succeed in their final definition.The main development areas will be related to Gas Technology, Hydrogen Compression, Energy Storage, Waste Heat Recovery Systems, CCUS (Carbon Capture Use and Storage).

As a Compressors & Radial Expanders Product Development Lead Design Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Lead the design, validation and industrialization phase of new products & solutions.
  • Lead and execute main thermodynamics calculations, mechanical analysis, cost analysis and drawings to technically define the machine.
  • Lead ideas providing relevant effort in structuring conceptual roadmaps to target the goals.
  • Definition of new design tools and validation of new concepts and products.
  • Lead detailed technical reports and documentation of the design and testing phases.

Fuel your passion

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have an open mindset ready to learn and apply new concepts.
  • Have a Master Degree in Mechanical or Aeronautical/Aerospace Engineering or Equivalent.
  • Knowledge of mechanical configuration & drawings of machines and related production/assembly/testing phase.
  • Knowledge of structural analyses involved into the design of a machine and main understanding of mechanical behaviours of materials.
  • Knowledge of basic thermodynamics and basic aerodynamics of a turbomachinery.
  • Demonstrate good computer skills and be familiar with CAD & FEA techniques.
  • Experience in turbomachinery design, especially in compressors, is a plus.
  • Have good verbal and written skills, be fluent in English.
