Job Title: Senior Platform Engineer

You will report to the Lead Engineer within Business Banking Technology.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Follow release and change processes in the compilation and distribution of software builds and releases to development and test environments, as well as system updates into production
- Setup and troubleshoot complex deployment and environment issues.
- Act as the custodian for Build and Deployment assets for own platform and be responsible for them through all environments
- Ensure that servers/applications are healthy. e,g, free of vulnerabilities, having the right.
- Analyse systems and applications and provide recommendations for design, enhancement and development, and play an active part in their execution
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable and reliable infrastructure.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure high availability and reliability.
- Automate repetitive tasks and processes to improve efficiency.
- Collaborate with development teams to ensure smooth deployment and operation of applications.
- Implement and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting systems.
- Participate in on-call rotations to provide 24/7 support for critical systems.
- Develop and maintain documentation for infrastructure and processes in Confluence.
Essential Skills:
- Experience: 7+ years of industry experience
- Operating Systems: Windows (must have) and Linux (good to have).
- Monitoring and Alert Tools: Observe, Obstack, Grafana, Splunk, AppDynamics, Pager Duty
- Scripting Languages: Python, Bash, Go, Ansible
- CI/CD Tools: Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI
- Programming skills: Knowledge of .NET stack is quite handy.
- Cloud Platforms: AWS (preferred AWS certified)
- Networking: TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, Load Balancing, VPN, TLS
- Containerization: Docker, Kubernetes; Good to Have
- Infrastructure as Code: Terraform, CloudFormation; either one of them
- Stakeholder Management – Internal & External
- Soft skills: Excellent communication, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Understanding of SDLC and change management processes.
- Others: System and server administration, IIS concepts, Networking knowledge of concepts like proxies, firewalls, load balancers etc.
Education Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering in Computer Science/Information Technology.
