Job Title: Head of ICM KYC India Center of Excellence Team

Location: Mumbai

KYC Operations is responsible for supporting all KYC and Client Data/Client Lifecycle Management related functions for CB&IB Businesses spanning New Client adoption/ Periodic and Event Driven Reviews etc – within that specifically the ICM KYC team globally is a team of ~200 FTE’s across all regions supporting ICM and TFFI businesses . ICM KYC COE team in India is a key component of that global ICM KYC Team.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Functional and disciplinary management of the ICM KYC team in India spanning KYC Officer / QC and other ICM KYC related support functions in India Centre of Excellence.
  • Driving further growth of ICM KYC CoE team in India, as part of Target operating model and ensure smooth migration of additional roles from onshore locations into India.
  • Close partnership with ICM KYC Regional portfolio leads for AMEA / Europe and America’s to ensure timely completion of PR/EDR’s/ NCA’s through support from India CoE team to meet required KPI’s and business expectations.
  • Ensure teams are completing KYC to required quality standards and help uplift overall quality standards and capability of teams through training and upskilling.
  • Continually reviewing processes managed in India and identifying opportunities for optimization of existing KYC processes without compromising control/ quality standards.
  • Lead senior stakeholder management across key ICM KYC and ICM business stakeholders across all regions and ensure a strong feedback loop on service delivery from India.
  • Responsible for contributing to and executing aspects of ICM KYC strategy including aspects of location strategy execution, operating model changes and team enablement and support for Transformation.
  • Driving strong risk and control culture within India ICM KYC teams
  • Partnering with global transformation teams in supporting landing, smooth operationalization and benefit realization of transformation changes for ICM KYC
  • Build partnerships at senior levels within Deutsche India CB IB Ops & Control organization and represent India ICM KYC ops in senior local and regional franchise level governance forums and initiatives as appropriate.
  • Engage actively with ICM-TFFI business in partnership with regional leads to help drive improvements around overall client experience outcomes for ICM and TFFI.
  • Support overall people strategy execution in ICM KYC team in India- including identification of top talent, creation of critical role replacement pipelines and overall capability enhancement within teams as part of organizational transformation
  • Ensure appropriate performance management and career development for direct team members to have an overall high performing team.
  • Proactively scan external and peer bank landscapes for industry best practices and innovation ideas that are candidates for adoption- and engage with global teams to validate feasibility and benefit cases of any such ideas

  • QA & EMG partners in supporting overall Financial Crime Risk Prevention framework for ICM.
  • Global KYC Service (Screening utility) team that support ICM
  • Global Steering and MI team and leads supporting ICM KYC
  • Deutsche India (Global Centre of Excellence) Due Diligence leadership teams covering other business lines.
  • Deutsche India Mumbai site leadership team
  • Global KYC Ops Functional teams supporting Production from Transformation/KOS/ERT side.
  • Key senior Business managers covering ICM and TFFI portfolio globally across different regions.  
  • CB ICM Business Line AFC Leads to ensure strong coordination between ICM KYC Ops and AFC

Job Requirements:

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Graduate with strong academic background
  • Overall experience of at least 15 years in the Banking/Finance industry of which at least 3 years should be in significant leadership role managing  multiple teams.
  • Strong experience in KYC/Client onboarding space in banks of similar size with direct knowledge /involvement of KYC review processes.
  • Significant experience in supporting/ partnering with CB & IB businesses with broad understanding of Correspondent banking and trader Finance business product and service offerings.
  • Experience in addressing Risk & Control topics particularly around Non-Financial Risk management.
  • Experience in growing and managing centre of Excellence teams in India to support various onshore locations across multiple geographies.
  • Experience of working internationally a big plus

  • Attention to detail with strong data interpretation skills- strong excel capabilities.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral and proficient in Office applications.
  • Highly collaborative and able to generate trust and partnership from senior/peer level stakeholders
